The multipurpose arena located at Philadelphia in US – Wells Fargo Center – which serves as the home facility of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League (NHL), the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association, and the Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League – has come up with extensive plans to transform its club level as part of the arena’s ongoing, multiyear $300m (£234m/€270m) modification project. Wells Fargo Center can sit 19,500 spectators and went on stream in 1996.

Continuing a series of sweeping advancements to its mezzanine, main concourse, and suite levels, Wells Fargo Center recently released details surrounding its next industry-leading innovation. The arena has come up with an ambitious plan to set a benchmark in sports and entertainment.

Beyond luxury

The club level will undergo a sea change over the summer, offering top-end amenities and exhilarating experiences that will look to “set a new standard” in sports and entertainment. The space will fit in around 1,500 fans and will be equipped with three unique seating options, one of which will offer oversized leather seats.

This will result in profound transformation of the current multibox club level, expanding more than 13,000 square feet to provide an open-concept layout.

A new completely reimagined VIP entrance on the west side of the arena facing Broad Street will provide guests with a new VIP lounge boasting a chic bar, communal seating and fireplaces where guests can let their hair down. Three new escalators and two elevators will flank the entrance and a dedicated premium parking lot will come up close by. The dedicated premium parking lot will be relocated directly adjacent to the entrance and will feature direct access to and from to Broad Street, easing entry and departure pathways to and from the arena on event nights.

The Club Premier section of the level will bring club seat holders closer to the action, with four rows extending from the original seating layout towards the arena floor. Guests in these seats will benefit from enhanced in-seat service.

Wells Fargo Center claims that the second new seating option is a first for Philadelphia. The Club Loge will offer a semi-private seating space with four Captain’s Chair Ultra Comfort seats. Each loge is located 23 rows from the arena floor and enjoys a private drink rail, dedicated televisions that boast on-demand in-seat service touch screen displays, and branding opportunities for owners.

Comfort food

As Philadelphia’s outstanding culinary community continues to gain national and global prominence, American sports and entertainment company Comcast Spectacor is placing utmost importance on a curated approach to the arena’s food and beverage offerings as the main feature of the new club level.

The arena’s food and beverage offerings will serve as a central feature of the new club level which promises to retain an aura of glamour and a whisper of luxury. Plans are in the offing to introduce a local Celebrity Chef Program to celebrate Philadelphia’s passion for excellent cuisine and the special relationship that exists between sports, entertainment, and great food.

Specialty menus from these chefs will be featured at four cornerstone food stands on the level. State-of-the-art touch screen ordering kiosks will also be available for guests, with options for orders to be delivered directly to their seats.

Valerie Camillo, President of Business Operations at Wells Fargo Center, commented, “We have a unique opportunity to showcase the diversity of Philadelphia’s culinary greatness in one special place while providing an exclusive experience for our club level guests.”

“Philadelphia has put itself on the map as a marquee destination for craft food and cocktails. Instituting a refined, local culinary programme to the club level is an exciting way for fans to enjoy the best of both the booming food culture in the city and the appeals of Wells Fargo Center sports and entertainment.”

To lift guests’ spirits, the new club level will also feature several exclusive upscale bars including a vaulted wine cellar, whiskey/bourbon bar, and taproom.

Expect the best

Beyond the reimagined food and beverage program, members will also enjoy premium exclusives only available on the new club level. Secure coat checks will be stationed at both ends of the floor in addition to a merchandise boutique set to offer high-end, luxury-brand apparel only available on the club level.

Club ticket holders will enjoy exclusive benefits unique to the level. They will also enjoy priority access to concerts and playoff tickets, each in-game ticket will be pre-loaded with up to $30 per game to be used at the arena.

Wells Fargo Center’s ‘Transformation 2020’ project has already seen the arena fitted with the world’s first kinetic 4K centre-hung scoreboard, while it has also introduced the ‘New City Terrace’.
