The Major League Baseball (MLB) team – the Athletics – say their “next chapter” in Las Vegas (US) is starting to take shape on and off the field.
Founding Partners
‘fox5vegas.com’ stated recently that the team owners and the executives unveiled Circa and Circa Sports as the first Founding Partners for the future Las Vegas Athletics ballpark on the Strip.
The Athletics (often referred to as the ‘A’s’) are an American professional baseball team based in West Sacramento, California (US). The Athletics compete in the Major League Baseball (MLB) as a Member club of the American League (AL) West Division.
The 14,014-seat Sutter Health Park is a ballpark in West Sacramento, California (US) directly adjacent to downtown Sacramento. It serves as the temporary home of the Major League Baseball (MLB) team Athletics.
The Athletics’ new ballpark is a $1.75 billion, 33,000-seat climate-controlled domed stadium currently under construction on the Las Vegas Strip at the former site of the Tropicana Las Vegas (US) scheduled to open for the 2028 MLB season.
Lined with upscale casino hotels the neon-soaked Strip is quintessential Las Vegas. As well as gambling floors the vast hotel complexes house a variety of shops, restaurants (ranging from mainstream to high-end) and performance venues for music, comedy and circus-style acts. Attractions like the soaring, choreographed Fountains of Bellagio and the High Roller observation wheel draw crowds.
‘Dugout Box’
‘fox5vegas.com’ further stated that the deal includes premium ‘Dugout Box’ seats built next to the home dugout plus a block of special ‘Time of Your Life’ seats high in the right-center field that Circa plans to use for hotel guest packages and promotions.
Roofed Stadium
The Owners say the new roofed stadium is rising fast with major truss pieces going up now and they’re still targeting a February 2028 opening.
Best Seats
Said Derek Stevens, Head Honcho, Circa, “The ‘A’s’ ballpark will be the best stadium, arena, ever designed and ever built in any sport and it will be here in this wonderful city of Las Vegas. These dugout seats are going to be the best seats in the sport.”
Guaranteed Spot
A longtime Las Vegas baseball fan now has a guaranteed spot inside the ‘A’s’ new ballpark on Opening Day 2028.
‘Time of Your Life’ Seats
During the partnership event with Circa the officials surprised Derek Delp, a Triple-A season-ticket holder since 2003, with the first pair of ‘Time of Your Life’ seats.
The 28 special seats will sit high in the right-center field, a nod to the old ‘Bob Uecker’ nosebleed ads, and will be given out through hotel packages for all 81 home games.
Delp said he grew up as a die-hard Chicago Cubs (MLB team) fan in Chicago and never imagined Las Vegas would land its own Major League ballpark.
‘Beyond Excited’
Concluded Delp, longtime season-ticket holder, “I was surprised to be handed two ‘Time of Your Life’ seats. I was already excited about Opening Day, now I’m beyond excited. I always thought Vegas would be a perfect place for baseball and now it’s coming true.”
The ‘Bob Uecker nosebleed ads’ refer to a famous 1984 [seven-second/minute] [Miller Lite] commercial starring the former Major League Baseball player and broadcaster Bob Uecker where he is mistakenly escorted all the way to the top row of the stadium and declares, “I must be in the front row!”
