FC Barcelona generated record matchday revenue of €19.1 million at the Spotify Camp Nou during Sunday’s El Clásico against Real Madrid.

2playbook said the figure was 16% higher than the previous record set when the two clubs met at the stadium in May, according to figures provided by Barcelona.

Ticket sales generated €19,105,768, despite the attendance of 60,055 being lower than the 62,213 spectators who attended the previous fixture. The rise was driven by the club’s dynamic pricing strategy.

The result was achieved despite the impact of seasonal tourism patterns, with the match taking place in October rather than May, when Barcelona experiences lower tourist numbers.

The increase reflects higher ticket prices and strong demand for premium hospitality. The average standard ticket price rose by 10% compared with the previous season to €984, while the average VIP ticket price hit €2,727.

Season-ticket holders and tickets purchased by club members accounted for 86% of regular stadium capacity, while the general public accounted for the remaining 14%.

During a 24-hour members-only presale, members purchased nearly 10,000 tickets.

Hospitality revenue increased by 350%, supported by an expanded four-row VIP offering in the stadium’s second tier.

The VIP segment achieved a record average price of €2,727, 350% higher than the price of regular tickets.

The hospitality offering comprised approximately 5,000 seats across the stadium, including season-long products and single-match packages, complemented by VIP lounges and additional spaces at the Museu, Palau, Village and Hyatt.

Exclusive experiences — Warm-up, Star Pass and Heart of the Pitch — generated almost €300,000 in additional net revenue, with the highest price for an individual experience reaching €6,000.

The match also drove strong merchandise sales. Barcelona’s main stadium store generated more than €800,000 in daily revenue on each of the two days surrounding the fixture.

The club attributed the demand in part to a capsule collection produced in collaboration with American rapper Tyler, the Creator.

The record matchday performance adds to Barcelona’s wider commercial growth as the club continues its Espai Barça redevelopment programme.

The Camp Nou, officially the Spotify Camp Nou for sponsorship reasons, and often referred to in English as the Nou Camp, is a stadium in Barcelona (Spain) and the home of the LaLiga club FC Barcelona since its opening in 1957.

It is currently undergoing renovation and with a planned increased seating capacity of 105,000 it will retain its position as the largest stadium in terms of seating capacity in Spain and Europe as well as the second- largest association football stadium while becoming the fifth-largest overall stadium in the world.
