With over 20 years of experience in the event and sporting events industry, Rainer Schüler is currently the General Manager of the Westfalenhalle (one of the most legendary concert, event and rock arenas in Europe) in Dortmund, Germany.

His focus is on the strategic development and operational excellence of one of Germany’s most renowned event venues.

As the Senior Venue Manager of the EURO 2024 GmbH (a joint venture organization between the Union of European Football Associations [UEFA] Events SA and the German Football Association [DFB] EURO GmbH which was responsible for the operational planning and implementation of the soccer showpiece) he played a key role in the planning and realization of one of Europe’s biggest sporting events held in Germany.

Previously, he was the Founder and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the VP Venue Planner, an intelligent event planning software with an integrated security and risk management solution.

His professional career includes leading positions in the event and arena industry including working as the Head of Operations for the Grand Départ of the Tour de France (an annual men’s multiple-stage bicycle race held primarily in France) 2017 in Düsseldorf (Germany). His other roles include working as the General Manager of the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) and as the Public Relations (PR) Manager of the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA in Düsseldorf, Germany.

With his expertise in event strategy, budgeting and interdisciplinary collaboration he drives innovative solutions and forward-looking concepts for the events industry.
