The NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers are being joined at their Intuit Dome arena by a new women’s pro volleyball franchise.

Talksport said LOVB Los Angeles will move into the venue for their debut League One Volleyball season in January 2027.

The Intuit Dome opened in 2024 and the $2 billion venue has already hosted numerous events beyond the NBA.

The 17,927-capacity Intuit Dome is an indoor arena in Inglewood, California (US). The stadium is located South of the other sports venues, the 70,000-capacity SoFi Stadium and the 17,505-capacity Kia Forum. It is the home venue of the Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

The Los Angeles Clippers are an American professional basketball team based in the Greater Los Angeles area (US). The Clippers compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference.

WWE ran its premiere episode of Raw on Netflix inside the Intuit Dome last January, while Ronda Rousey’s mixed martial arts comeback against Gina Carano also unfolded in front of nearly 16,000 in Inglewood.

LOVB Los Angeles will debut during the league’s third season, which begins in December.

The club was founded by Alexis Ohanian, controlling owner and founder of Angel City FC, Los Angeles Golf Club, ATHLOS and minority owner of Chelsea Women’s FC; and backed by 776, the firm he built after co-founding Reddit.

Ohanian and his 776 investment firm entered into definitive agreements to lead the ownership group of the LA-based team in October 2025.

He has recently talked up the Intuit Dome as a home venue for the franchise.

He said “Intuit Dome is the best new arena in sports, full stop. If we’re serious about building women’s volleyball into a major professional sport in LA, our athletes and fans deserve an iconic home. This is exactly the kind of stage we want for LOVB LA.

“It raises the ceiling for the entire business. You’re giving sponsors a premium platform, giving fans a destination they’re excited to come to, and giving our athletes an environment that reflects the caliber of the product. It sends a very clear signal about our ambition for this franchise and for women’s sports in LA.

“Volleyball has a massive participation base, an enormous young and female audience, and some of the best athletes in the world, but the professional opportunity in the U.S. hasn’t matched that demand. I’ve seen what happens when you properly invest in women’s sports. The fans were already here. The talent was already here. The opportunity is to build the product and platform they deserve.”
