The Jockey Club (UK) has completed a group-wide rollout of Halo Solutions’ incident management platform across all 14 of its racecourses under a multiyear national contract.

Halo System

‘accessaa.co.uk’ stated that the Halo System has been used across every Jockey Club racecourse for meetings since January 2026 following two years of on-site delivery at the major fixtures including the Cheltenham Festival, the Grand National and the Derby (a famous flat race for three-year-old thoroughbred colts and fillies).

London (UK)-based The Jockey Club is one of the largest commercial horse racing organizations in the United Kingdom. It owns 15 of Britain’s famous racecourses.

The Halo Solutions is a British software company that provides an all-in-one incident, risk and crowd safety management platform called The Halo System.

The Cheltenham Festival is a horse racing-based meeting in the National Hunt racing calendar in the United Kingdom. The four-day festival takes place annually in March at the 67,500-capacity Cheltenham Racecourse in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire (UK).

The Grand National is a National Hunt horse race held annually at the 75,000-capacity Aintree Racecourse in Aintree, Merseyside, England, near Liverpool.

Incident Management Support

‘accessaa.co.uk’ further stated that the partnership began in October 2024 with the Halo Solutions providing incident management support at the Cheltenham Festival in March 2025. Further delivery followed at Aintree’s Grand National and Epsom Downs’ Derby later that year.

The Derby Stakes, more commonly known as the Derby and sometimes referred to as the Epsom Derby, is a Group 1 flat horse race in England open to three-year-old colts and fillies. It is run at the 130,000-capacity Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey (UK).

Racecourses

The rollout covers racecourses including the Cheltenham Racecourse, the Aintree Racecourse, the Epsom Downs Racecourse, the 20,000-capacity Haydock Park Racecourse in Merseyside, the 45,000-capacity Newmarket Racecourse in Newmarket, the 18,000-capacity Sandown Park Racecourse in Esher, the 5,000-capacity Warwick Racecourse in Warwick, the 8,000-capacity Nottingham Racecourse in Nottingham, the 16,000-capacity Carlisle Racecourse in Cumbria, and the 5,000-capacity Market Rasen Racecourse in Lincolnshire.

Control Room Dashboard

The Halo System connects the racecourse teams with the police, the medical teams, the on-course security, and the other operational partners. Its app allows the multiple agencies to log and track activity in real time with information fed into a central control room dashboard.

Audit Trail

The system also provides an audit trail covering the incidents, the tasks and the responses.

Racecourses’ Consistency

Said Sarah Walters, The Jockey Club Group Head, Crowd Safety and Security, “We’re pleased to be working with Halo. This partnership supports the consistency we’re building across our racecourses.”

Growth Area

Added Lloyd Major, Halo Solutions Head Honcho, “Racing is an important growth area for Halo Solutions and this partnership with The Jockey Club is a major step in strengthening our position across the sector. It reflects the growing demand for the incident management systems that can support the complex venues, the multiple stakeholders and the rising expectations around safety, security and accountability. If every course records, manages and reports incidents differently it becomes harder to compare risk, identify the trends, share learning and evidence consistent standards.”
