    The 20,000-capacity Arena is a multipurpose arena in Downtown Los Angeles (US). Adjacent to the L.A. Live development, it is located next to the Los Angeles Convention Center complex along Figueroa Street.

    FC Cincinnati is a soccer club based in Cincinnati, Ohio (US) that began play in 2016 in the competition then known as the United Soccer League and now as the USL Championship. The team was announced on August 12th, 2015. The club’s ownership group was led by Carl H. Lindner III. The TQL Stadium serves as their residence.

    Jeff Berding will tell the august audience in this conclave as to how FC Cincinnati completed the new $300 million, 26,000-seat TQL Stadium in May 2021. The stadium has been nationally recognized as the best soccer-specific stadium in the United States. FC Cincinnati, continuing the neighborhood development momentum of TQL Stadium, is actively working to develop a new mix-use community immediately adjacent to the TQL Stadium. The new development will begin demolition/site prep in Fall 2022 with the first buildings complete by the end of 2025.

    He will further elaborate on the above development which will be 8.5 acres in size and will come armed with 450 market-rate multifamily residential rental apartments, 100 affordable multifamily residential rental apartments, 150 room full-service hotel with 12+ for sale condo units on the upper floors, 60,000 SF of office space, 100,000 (+/-) SF of commercial (restaurant, bar, retail, and entertainment) space, 800 space public parking garage, and 2.5 acres (+/-) public programed open space.

    OVG (pledge) to heal planet with Climate Pledge Arena

    Oak View Group (OVG) is an American global advisory, development and investment company for the sports and live entertainment industries.

    In this conference, Stephen Collins will talk about a joint project between Oak View Group (OVG), Amazon and professional ice hockey expansion team Seattle Kraken based in Seattle (US), the Climate Pledge Arena - which will be the first net zero carbon certified arena when it reopens in late 2021.

    In the Fall of 2021 Climate Pledge Arena, a $1 billion 18,000-seat state of the art sports and entertainment venue will open as the home of the National Hockey League’s (NHL) Seattle Kraken and the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) Seattle Storm. Located at Seattle Center in downtown Seattle, Climate Pledge Arena will become the first net zero carbon arena in the world and set a new sustainability bar for the sports and entertainment history.

    Steve Collins will also discuss about the building’s design and sustainability features and the road to net zero carbon, including the process of preserving the 44 million ton landmarked roof while excavating over 600,000 cubic yards of material and constructing the brand new 800,000 sq ft arena underneath. He will walk us through some of the unique sustainability elements including the buildings 100 percent electric operation powered with 100 percent renewable electricity, the use of reclaimed water in the ice system to create the greenest ice in NHL, and the unique partnership with Amazon to inspire climate action.

    In this assembly, Chris Roberts will speak at length on the University of Idaho 4,200-capacity ICCU Arena in Moscow, Idaho, US, which is a fully integrated design envisioned to redefine the college arena typology through the use of Mass Timber. It began with the idea that a university arena could be a place of community, highly sustainable, light-filled, warm, inviting, and unique to the university’s context and campus culture.

    He will further highlight that as a research university with one of the nation’s leading Forestry and Natural Resources Departments, the institution set a goal for the project to become a national showcase and learning laboratory for the innovative use of Mass Timber developed through a process of working collaboratively with forest products industry partners. Constructed with 50,000 cubic feet of wood that sequesters 1,200 metric tons of CO2, the project avoided 500 metric tons of CO2 as compared to conventional arena construction. This design strategy minimizes environmental impact, invigorates local economies and delivers a beautiful landmark for the region.

    The Major League Cricket (MLC) is an upcoming professional Twenty20 cricket league in the United States. Operated by American Cricket Enterprises (ACE) and sanctioned by USA Cricket, it plans to begin play in 2023, with six teams in major US Cities under a single-entity model. In 2021, the development league for MLC, Minor League Cricket (MiLC), completed its inaugural season, which was contested by 27 franchise-based teams.

    In this conference, William Swann will give an insight into how as a new league with limited capital, Major League Cricket is looking to build a number of venues across United States that are capable of hosting the highest level of international professional cricket - starting with the conversion of a MiLB stadium in Grand Prairie, Texas.

    In this presentation, he will also cover how MLC managed the constraints of the existing baseball venue, limited budget, international cricket venue standards, and future expansion flexibility to design and build a stadium that maximizes commercial value to the league, whilst delivering the best fan experience possible.

    In this congress, Bernie Mullin will talk on how fans are generally all back in the venues with few exceptions and many new fans have joined them. The thrill of in-person attendance with like-minded people appears to be as strong, if not stronger than ever. But what patterns are we seeing that’s different?

    First, many fans have continued the move away from season tickets with smaller/fewer home matches in the packages being demanded. Second, after a couple of years away from venues many fans have gotten use to more information and more camera angles on their broadcasts or streaming and that presents new challenges to meet that experience for in-game entertainment operations.

    He will finally reflect on how fans have significantly increased their comfort with online ordering and purchasing during the pandemic to the point where they have become more sophisticated, more discriminatory and more demanding. Digital ticketing and contactless payment is even more ubiquitous.

    Consequently, the biggest impact is being revealed in the food and beverage concession offerings that now need to be more exciting to meet the changing tastes of people who broadened their outlooks in the pandemic, many in their own backyards or in tight social/community spaces, where communal eating, albeit slightly less packed, has grown even more.

Here, we discuss the steps to protect venues from the new bad guys. How to react in case of a bomb threat for instance? We also attempt to differentiate between safety (crowd management) and security (crowd control). How can modern IT support safety and security? Is your training sufficient? Does it train staff on today’s threats and not those of yesterdays?

    COVID-19 has also thrown up the biggest challenge to the sports venue sector. Fans have come back into the stadia fold but with the various virus variants rearing their ugly heads, venues will have to adopt stringent COVID-19 protocols and leave nothing to chance for the greater safety and security of spectators. In this segment, we will discuss how social distancing norms will have to be strictly imposed in stadia, and how entry/exit protocols in and out of the venue should be touchless and in the form of biometrics. How will futuristic technology facilitate contactless service?

    We will also deliberate how enhanced sanitation and safety will have to be priorities in venues and how sports and entertainment venues should adopt mobile ordering and order-ahead capabilities for foodservices with designated pickup times. In a COVID-19 world, crowding around a food or drink counters is no longer acceptable and a scenario could arrive when food will be given in packets to spectators keeping in mind the health factor of both players and supporters.

Other historic events include American evangelist Billy Graham’s appearance in 1963 in front of 134,254 (still an all-time Coliseum record), Nelson Mandela’s 1990 triumphant return to the United States, the first ever Papal Mass by Pope John Paul II in 1987, and the 1976 Bicentennial Spectacular. The Coliseum has hosted decades of memorable concerts including a ‘who’s-who’ listing of some of rock-n-roll’s greatest artistes: English rock bands The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, American singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen, Irish rock band U2, American heavy metal band Metallica, and more!

    Known also for hosting soccer competitions, the Coliseum has been the site of more than 500 memorable matches. In fact, the all-time Coliseum attendance record for a soccer match was set on July 26th, 2017, as 93,098 fans turned out to see LaLiga team Real Madrid CF (Spain) take on the Premier League club Manchester City F.C. in the International Champions Cup. As the Coliseum nears closer to its centennial in 2023, Furin will inform the gathering how they look forward to seeing what the next 100 years has in store for them here at ‘The Greatest Stadium in the World’!
