Karen Lynch

Karen A. Lynch, P.E. serves as the President and a managing principal of Geiger Engineers, an engineering practice specializing in stadium and arena design, entertainment structures, and long span lightweight structures. Karen earned her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and her master’s degree at Columbia University.

In her 36 years at Geiger Engineers, Karen has played a pivotal role in the structural design and construction of stadia including Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, FL, Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, NV, the New Louis Armstrong Stadium; a US Open venue, the Icahn Stadium Randall’s Island Track & Field Center, and the new retractable roof for B.C. Place Stadium in Vancouver, BC.

She was involved with design and construction of many arenas including the PNC Arena in Raleigh, NC, the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, MN, and the Resch Center in Ashwaubenon, WI. On an ongoing basis Karen has been evaluating these and other arena roof structures for temporary rigging loads from concerts and events featuring artists such as Justin Timberlake, Cirque du Soleil, Drake, Metallica, and WWE. She consults to venues and production riggers on show rigging.
