EURO 2020 more tickets can be bought

MLSZ Hungary

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has made additional tickets available for the European Championship matches, including the Budapest matches.

Euro 2020 is scheduled to be the 16th UEFA European Championship, the quadrennial international men’s football championship of Europe organized by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). It will be held from June 11th to July 11th, 2021.

‘nemzeti sport’ quoted the Hungarian Football Association as stating on their website while referring to the UEFA that the Hungarian national team will play against Portugal and France in the 67,215-capacity Puskás Arena in Budapest (Hungary) in the group round.

‘nemzeti sport’ further quoted the Hungarian Football Association as stating that, “Tickets for the European Championships has gone on sale again on June 2nd. The tickets are sold in order of application of UEFA. On Friday, June 4th, fans were given the opportunity to purchase tickets that redeemed their tickets in May 2021. However, as only a limited number of entrants are available, it is not guaranteed that all applicants will receive a ticket. In addition to the meetings in Budapest, tickets will also be available for other matches of the European Championship. More information can be found on the UEFA website.”

In addition to a valid ticket, a security card is required to get ingress to the venue. It is important that the plastic card and the certificates presented on the mobile application are also accepted by the organizers, but their presence is not checked at the stadium before direct entry. Fans visiting the matches can present their papers at three different points from the morning of the day before the meetings (a valid identity card or passport must be presented in addition to the security certificate). They will get an armband based on which they can take part in the given match.”

The ‘UEFA’ stated that despite the recent cancellations and refunds for tickets for UEFA Euro 2020 there are several tickets which will go on sale on UEFA.com during the first half of June. The available tickets are the result of the venue changes relating to Bilbao (Spain) and Dublin (Ireland), ticket returns, increased capacities, and the release of tickets with a restricted view.

Seville (Spain) and Saint Petersburg (Russia) fixtures

Initially, tickets for matches in Seville and Saint Petersburg went on sale from 14:00 CEST on June 1st, 2021. These tickets were offered first via a 24-hour priority window to all fans that had their tickets canceled and refunded for matches in Bilbao and Dublin.

From June 2nd at 14:00 CEST, any remaining tickets for matches in Sevilla and St Petersburg was put on sale to the public. Additionally, remaining tickets for matches in Budapest (Hungary) was made available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The ‘UEFA’ further stated that from June 4th, 2021, fans that had their tickets canceled and refunded for the other venues during the May 2021 ballot process were given the possibility to purchase tickets which became available due to ticket returns, increased capacities and the release of restricted view tickets.

All impacted ticket buyers will receive an email outlining the purchase process, 24 hours before tickets will be made available. Since the number of tickets is very limited, tickets cannot be guaranteed. Instead, all tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis among ticket buyers who had tickets canceled through the ballot.

For travel guidelines, ticket buyers are responsible for checking and verifying the latest situation by regularly reading national and international Government websites for the latest accurate information.
