The Premier League team Arsenal F.C. will increase their men’s season ticket prices and introduce a safe standing area at their home arena – the Emirates Stadium in London, England (UK) – from the next season.
‘BBC SPORT’ stated that it is the fifth year in a row that the Premier League leaders have increased their prices.
The Arsenal Football Club is a professional football club based in Islington, North London, England (UK). They compete in the Premier League, the top tier of English football.
The Emirates Stadium (known as the Arsenal Stadium for the Union of European Football Associations [UEFA] competitions) is a football stadium in Holloway, London, England (UK). It has been the home stadium of the Arsenal Football Club since its completion in 2006.
Nyon (Switzerland)-based the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) is one of the six continental bodies of governance in association football. It governs football, futsal and beach football in Europe and the transcontinental countries of Russia (suspended), Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Kazakhstan, as well as the West Asian countries of Cyprus, Armenia and Israel. The UEFA consists of 55 national association members. After the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine the FIFA and the UEFA suspended all the Russian national teams and clubs from any FIFA and UEFA competitions.
‘BBC SPORT’ further stated that ‘The Gunners’ are offering two types of season ticket for 2026-2027 – a 23-match offer that includes the Champions League home matches and a 19-game option that only includes the Premier League games.
The UEFA Champions League (UCL or UEFA CL), commonly known as the Champions League, is an annual club association football competition organized by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) that is contested by the top-division European clubs.
Those season tickets will rise by an average of 3.9 percent on 2025-2026 prices while the Arsenal’s club level season tickets will also be 3.9 percent more expensive.
The Arsenal Supporters Trust (AST) has said it is “disappointed” that the Football Supporters Association’s proposal for a ticket price freeze across all Premier League clubs has been ignored.
Arsenal, who will still offer 1,000 free tickets to the local community for the 2026-2027 seasons say that the season ticket price increases are partly a reflection of the rising operational matchday costs.
Arsenal already have one of the most expensive season tickets in the Premier League and received the third-highest amount of income from gate receipts in the 2023-2024 seasons (£127m) behind only the LaLiga team Real Madrid CF (Spain) (£153m) and the Ligue 1 team Paris St-Germain FC (France) (£139m).
The AST said in a statement, “We firmly believe that with the football sector benefiting from the ever-increasing broadcast and commercial revenues it is time to stop squeezing the match-going supporters so hard. Neither the Premier League nor the Arsenal have seriously engaged with the idea that a freeze at all clubs would help stop the ‘arms race. ‘The Gunners’ will also introduce safe standing after “extensive consultation and engagement”.
From the next season the Arsenal say there will be “standing rails in areas where we know our supporters stand” in the Clock End’s lower tier.
The North Bank lower tier will follow suit from the start of the 2027-2028 seasons – which will mean that there will be about 13,500 supporters, including the away fans, in the licensed standing areas at the Emirates.
