The Panthers Stadium in Australia is a COVID-safe venue but has laid down terms for entry of patrons to the facility keeping in mind the grim coronavirus scenario the world over.
Penrith Stadium (known commercially as Panthers Stadium) is a rugby league and association football stadium located in Penrith, New South Wales, Australia. The 22,500-capacity venue is the home ground for the Penrith Panthers who play in the National Rugby League (NRL).
The Penrith Panthers are an Australian professional rugby league football team based in the western Sydney suburb of Penrith. The team is based 55 km West of the center of Sydney and at the foot of the Blue Mountains. Penrith were admitted to the New South Wales Rugby League competition in 1967.
The National Rugby League (NRL) is Australia’s top-level domestic men’s rugby league club competition.
Stadium guide
Transport, venue access and parking:
- A bus stop and taxi rank are located at the front of the Panthers Penrith Leagues Club, opposite the stadium, on Mulgoa Rd.
- The nearest railway station is Penrith, circa 10-minute walk from the stadium;
- Free but limited parking is available within the grounds of the Panthers Penrith Leagues Club, opposite the stadium on Mulgoa Rd.;
- The car park located in the front of the Western side of the arena is reserved for the physically challenged; to gain access a disabled sticker must be displayed; and
- Further public parking is available in areas surrounding the stadium.

- Panthers Penrith Leagues Club – free parking – entry off Mulgoa Rd;
- Penrith Cricket Club – $4.00, entry off Station St Penrith Paceway – $5.00, entry off Ransley St.; and
- Patrons should be aware that all tickets will be scanned through the turnstiles.
Traffic details
Once inside the venue, a ‘NO PASS OUT’ policy will apply. Bags will be checked prior to ingress and suggested entry points as noted in the Panthers Stadium Traffic Management Plan are as follows:
- Media access – through West Gate;
- Allam Homes Chairman’s Club – through South gate;
- Corporate boxes – through North or South gates;
- Eastern grandstand or terrace – through North or South gates;
- Western grandstand or terrace – through West or South gates;
- Disabled access – through West or North gates;
- General seating access is available though all gates; and
- A drop off point is available outside West Gate on Ransley Street.
Box office and payment options
- There is a mixture of general entry and reserved seating available at Panthers Stadium;
- General admission disabled seating is available throughout the ground, including carer’s seats, operating on a first-in, first-served basis. Both reserved and general entry tickets are available for purchase through ticketek.com.au, the Panthers website, from Panthers club reception or stadium gate outlets;
- Tickets are available as home print ticket, posted/mailed tickets, at time of purchase or at venue collection;
- General entry ticket upgrades are available inside the ground at both the Western and Northern gates;
- Limited Electronic Funds Transfer at Point of Sale (EFTPOS) and credit card facilities are available at each gate entry and merchandise outlet. A no cash out policy does apply;
- There will be no refund or exchange on any purchased tickets if he or she decides not to attend the event (excluding upgrades) unless required by law;
- The right is reserved to charge a fee for the replacement of tickets in reserved areas and may refuse to replace tickets where seating is not allocated (general admission);
- Persons under 13 years of age will not be permitted entry unless under the direct supervision of an adult 18 years or over;
- Babies and juniors under the age of five are admitted free entry to the ground, if sitting in a reserved seat area, they must sit on the knee of a paying adult guardian, otherwise a reserved seat ticket must be purchased; and
- Children should be supervised at all times.
Food and beverages
- Food and beverage facilities are available throughout the public areas of Panthers Stadium selling a variety of catered products;
- Patrons are allowed to bring pre-packaged food such as sandwiches, fruits, biscuits, cakes, crisps, provided they are for individual consumption and are packaged appropriately;
- Unopened non-alcoholic beverages such as milk, juice, water, soft drink and alike at or less than 600 ml (not packaged in glass or aluminum cans) for individual consumption are permitted;
- Tea, coffee and soups in thermoses are acceptable (though will be checked);
- Patrons are not allowed to bring food or beverage products packaged or purchased at commercial outlets outside the venue’s licensed area (i.e., fast foods such as McDonalds or KFC). This does not apply to patrons with special dietary requirement and is at the discretion of the venue staff; and
- Eskies (a portable insulated container for keeping food and drink cool) will be permitted inside the stadium but will be subject to search and must be able to fit under a seat if in a reserved seating area.
Liquor rules
- Under the liquor license assigned to Panthers Stadium, alcohol consumption is restricted to the boundary fences of the property, within appropriately signed areas;
- Alcoholic beverages cannot be taken into or from Panthers Stadium. Alcoholic beverages are not to be consumed within the designated alcohol-free zones of East terrace bays 1-5, kids corner forecourt or Family (North) Hill;
- Anyone found supplying or buying alcohol for a minor or an intoxicated patron will be evicted from the event and may face criminal charges. Any minor found consuming alcohol will face similar action.
Entry rules
The following conditions apply to all patrons gaining access to Panthers Stadium. The management reserves the right to refuse entry to:
- Any patrons deemed intoxicated and/or disorderly;
- Any unauthorized persons;
- Any patron attempting to bring restricted or prohibited items into the venue;
- Any patron not in possession of a valid – whole ticket, pass or approved means of entry. Passes must be validated and used only once per event or face confiscation;
- The stadium gameday office sits within the Western gate complex. Enquiries regarding lost property, lost children or gameday facilities should be directed to staff in this office;
- It is a condition of entry of Panthers Stadium that a search of carried possessions is undertaken by the authorized security staff;
- Patrons should note their movements within Panthers Stadium may be subject to monitoring by closed circuit television and recording via commercial audio and visual;
- Patrons can enter and bring personal items into Panthers Stadium at their own risk;
- Panthers Stadium will not be held responsible for any theft of, loss of, or damages to person or personal property. It must be noted that patrons are at risk of being struck by a ball whilst viewing sporting events at Panthers Stadium;
- Any patron found throwing articles, gaining unauthorized entry into the field of play, using offensive and/or threatening language or ignoring the directions of the authorized venue staff will be evicted from the venue and may be liable for prosecution;
- Any patron found vandalising or damaging any infrastructure at Panthers Stadium will be arrested and liable for damages.
- The storage of any personal stuff or equipment in the aisles or thoroughfares, or sitting in these areas is strictly prohibited;
- The leaning over or climbing on handrails, balustrades or balconies is strictly prohibited;
- A non-smoking policy is in place for all seated areas, including grandstands, terraces, hills, thoroughfares and concourse areas or within five meter of all entrances to buildings, or concession areas;
- Patrons may smoke in the designated areas – in and around the forecourts and perimeter of the facility, away from the main thoroughfares or where signposted. Bins are provided in all designated areas to extinguish cigarettes; and
- At present, there are no ATMs or public telephones within the stadium. These facilities are available at the adjacent Panthers Penrith Leagues Club.
Restricted/prohibited items
Keeping in mind the greater safety and security of all patrons, the following items are not permitted in Panthers Stadium:
- Illicit drugs, illegal substances, glass or breakable containers;
- Spray cans or compressed canisters;
- Megaphones, loudhailers, horns or whistles;
- Flares, fireworks, laser pointers, knives, dangerous weapons, smoke bombs or any other items management should deem as dangerous or of public nuisance;
- Recording or photographic devices (for commercial use);
- Any goods or items for sale;
- Bicycles, skateboards, scooters, skates are rollerblades;
- Any political, religious, race-related or offensively worded or graphics materials on clothing, banners, flags or logos;
- Football team or supporter flags under 1mx1m are permitted in the seated grandstand and terrace areas;
- Flags larger than this size or with handles exceeding 1.6m must be confined to the top of the North hill area as instructed by the authorized staff. Metal poles will be only be accepted within banners on north hill. Flags and/or banners must not impede the view of other spectators;
- Umbrellas may be brought into the stadium but for the comfort of others should not be raised so as to obstruct the views of patrons in seated areas or concourses at any time; and
- Strollers and prams are not allowed within the seated areas at the stadium. They must not be left in thoroughfares or concourses and should be confined to open grassed areas. There are no cloak room facilities available.
