Again ghost games in Austria

Allianz

Austria went into a major fourth lockdown on November 22nd to try to break the strong fourth wave of coronavirus spreading across Europe.

The ‘Archysport’ stated that with Austria under lockdown it is again back to ghost games in the domestic Bundesliga!

The Austrian Football Bundesliga is the top level of the Austrian football league system. The competition decides the Austrian national football champions, as well as the country’s entrants for the various European cups run by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).

The ‘Archysport’ further stated that Austria has again gone into lockdown as the country is overwhelmed by the COVID-19 situation. And the sports venue sector has also been affected and the Bundesliga games will be played without fans in the stands. A sense of déjà vu prevails in Austria over the COVID-19 situation and the subsequent lockdown being clamped for the fourth time.

The Bundesliga games will continue but only fans will not be allowed inside venues.

Said Bundesliga boss Christian Ebenbauer, “We all know that football is not the same without fans. In the last year and a half we have proved that the game can continue in the stadium, albeit, without fans. So, we are pretty sure that this time too Bundesliga games will continue sans spectators.”
