The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) team San Diego Wave FC have tapped global sports executive Morrie Eisenberg as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) starting August 2026.

‘SAN DIEGO WAVE FC’ stated that Morrie Eisenberg brings more than two decades of executive leadership within top brands across the global sports and technology sectors with a proven record of driving commercial growth as well as elevating organizational experience and performance.

The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) is a women’s professional soccer league and the highest level of the United States soccer league system. It is headquartered in New York City.

The San Diego Wave Fútbol Club is an American professional soccer team based in San Diego, California (US) that competes in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).

The 35,000-seat Snapdragon Stadium is a multipurpose stadium in San Diego, California (US) utilized by the San Diego State University (SDSU). It serves as the home pitch of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) team San Diego Wave FC.

‘SAN DIEGO WAVE FC’ further stated that Morrie Eisenberg will join the San Diego Wave FC from the Premier League team Leeds United F.C. (UK) where he works as their Chief Business Officer (CBO). During his tenure he helped lead the historic English club through a period of major commercial growth and Premier League (the highest level of the English football league system) promotion, securing new global partnerships and upleveling performance across the business. Morrie Eisenberg has also fronted the 37,890-capacity Elland Road Stadium (England, UK) redevelopment efforts with the city planning approval now secured and work underway.

Eisenberg also currently serves as the Board Trustee for the Leeds United Foundation and as Senior Advisor to the 49ers Enterprises. Earlier in his career, Eisenberg held senior leadership roles at LinkedIn, Tesla (American multinational automotive and clean energy company) and the National Football League (NFL) team San Francisco 49ers.

The Leeds United Foundation is the official charity of the Leeds United Football Club. Established in 2010, the organization utilizes the reach and influence of the club to deliver community programs, educational initiatives and health and wellbeing projects across West Yorkshire (UK).

The 49ers Enterprises is the strategic investment and business arm of the NFL team San Francisco 49ers. It operates as the franchise’s venture capital and global sports ownership wing thus expanding the team’s business interests beyond American football into the global soccer clubs, the technology partnerships and the venue operations.
