Radical Changes

‘fenerbahce.org’ further stated that the project will begin as soon as the necessary permits are obtained and will involve radical changes to the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium architectural structure.

Foundation Stone

The first phase of the total transformation of the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium will be the laying of the foundation stone and after the concrete work is completed the steel supports will be installed. One of the most important stages of the revamp work is raising the stadium roof. The existing roof will be lifted approximately six meters using special jacks.

Roof Renovation

Following the roof renovation work the construction of new stands behind the goal posts and the addition of 52 private Boxes are being planned while there will be a capacity rise too.

Price Tag

The price tag of the venue revamp work stands at circa 50 million euros and the stadium located in the heart of Kadıköy (Municipality in Türkiye) will reach a capacity of 64,000 upon completion. The club’s estimated annual revenue increase is expected to be approximately 25 million euros in addition to the current revenues.

Exterior Cladding

Once the capacity rise work is over the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium’s exterior cladding work will begin thus ensuring perfect acoustics in the facility.

Revamp Work

Speaking about the project, Board Member Nihat Özbağı noted, “While the redecoration work is underway the matches will still be played in the arena but we may have to play a few matches in another stadium when the roof raising work is underway. The construction period is 12 months, according to the work schedule. We aim to bring it to a certain level by the end of the season. The approximate cost of the entire revamp work is 50 million Euros. We have built it with our own resources. The modernization work too we will carry out with our own funding sources with no burden on the club’s current budget, thanks to the support of our sponsors. Once the total transformation work of the stadium is completed our estimated annual revenue increase will be approximately 25 million euros in addition to our current revenues.”
