FIFA will carry out a series of venue visits across Morocco, Portugal and Spain before the end of this year as part of the ongoing planning process for the FIFA World Cup 2030™.

FIFA said the visits will be used to assess each candidate host city and stadium against its hosting requirements, helping inform the final selection of venues.

A delegation comprising representatives from key functional areas within FIFA will visit candidate cities and stadiums across the three countries to assess their readiness, operational plans and proposed tournament infrastructure.

The delegation will also meet representatives from local, regional and national authorities, stadium operators, transport and mobility stakeholders, accommodation providers and other key delivery partners.

The delegation will visit Agadir, Barcelona, Bilbao, Casablanca, Fez, Las Palmas, Lisbon, Madrid, Marrakech, Porto, Rabat, San Sebastián, Seville, Tangier and Zaragoza.

FIFA may also conduct visits to additional venues during the course of the venue selection process.

The number of matches and the corresponding match types played in each venue will be decided only once the host cities have been confirmed and as part of the process for determining the match schedule, as FIFA continues to work closely with all stakeholders across Morocco, Portugal and Spain to advance preparations for the tournament.

The 2030 FIFA World Cup™ is scheduled to be the 24th FIFA World Cup™, the quadrennial international football tournament that is contested by the Men’s national teams of the member associations of FIFA.

The tournament is planned to be jointly hosted by Morocco, Portugal and Spain.

In honor of the 100th anniversary of the first edition in 1930 a special match and celebration are scheduled to be held at the 60,235-capacity Estadio Centenario in Montevideo, Uruguay – the host stadium of the 1930 Final – as well as one match each in the 85,018-seat Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the 32,000-capacity Estadio Osvaldo Domínguez Dibb in Asunción, Paraguay.
