Laya Healthcare has been announced as the naming partner for the revamped 20,000-capacity RDS (Ireland).
‘Irish Examiner’ stated that the new multipurpose venue, home to Leinster Rugby and the annual Dublin Horseshow, will now be known as the Laya Arena and is due to reopen at the back end of next Summer after major construction work.
Leinster Rugby is one of the four professional provincial club rugby union teams from the island of Ireland. They compete in the United Rugby Championship and the European Rugby Champions Cup.
The Dublin Horse Show is Ireland’s premier annual equestrian event, a five-day festival at the RDS grounds featuring world-class show jumping.
The Laya Arena is the newly renamed and redeveloped main stadium at the RDS (Royal Dublin Society) in Dublin, Ireland, following a major €52m upgrade.
‘Irish Examiner’ further stated that a new main Anglesea Grandstand will be in place by the end of the rebuild with other works including new dressing-rooms and ancillary facilities in the opposite, existing sideline stand.
Said Shane Nolan, Leinster CEO, “This is a hugely significant day for Leinster Rugby as we move ever closer to a return to the RDS, our home stadium since 2007 and, indeed, for many years ahead.”
Leinster have a 25-year agreement to use the ground. That stretches up to 2047.
The 2026 Horse Show will be the first major event to be held at the reconstituted ground next August.
