London Stadium has appointed Julie Harrington and Vikram Banerjee as Non-Executive Directors.
London Stadium said these appointments strengthen the Board with two highly experienced leaders from across the sport, leisure and entertainment sectors.
The move follows the retirement of Phil Mead from the Board, with London Stadium extending its sincere thanks for his important contribution and service over his time as a Director.
The 68,013-capacity London Stadium is a multipurpose outdoor stadium at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in the Stratford district of London (UK) built for the 2012 London Olympics.
It is located in the Lower Lea Valley six miles East of Central London. It is the home of the Premier League’s West Ham United.
Julie Harrington joins the Board following a career at the heart of some of the UK’s most high-profile sporting and entertainment organisations.
Currently a Non-Executive Director at Chester Race Company, she began her career in leisure with Carlsberg/Tetley, Whitbread and British Airways, before progressing into executive and C-level roles across sport and major venues.
She has held senior leadership positions including Managing Director of both St George’s Park, The FA’s national football centre, and Wembley Stadium whilst Group Operations Director of The Football Association, as well as CEO roles at British Cycling and British Horseracing.
Harrington brings significant experience in leading complex business transformation programmes, alongside strong stakeholder management across public sector organisations, operators and commercial funders.
She also has extensive Board-level experience, including roles with GB Sports Media and the Horseracing Betting Levy Board, and is currently helping to oversee a major masterplan to extend and improve Chester Race Company.

Vikram Banerjee joins the Board as Managing Director of The Hundred at the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), where he leads one of the newest and most dynamic competitions in global sport.
Since joining the ECB in 2018, Banerjee has played a central role in shaping the modern direction of English cricket, including leading the landmark private investment process that valued The Hundred teams at nearly £1 billion.
A former professional cricketer, Banerjee’s role sits at the intersection of elite sport, media rights, team ownership and fan engagement, with responsibility for building a globally relevant and commercially sustainable competition that supports the wider cricket ecosystem.
Earlier in his career, Banerjee worked at Whitbread and as a management consultant. He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School and the University of Cambridge.
