The Governor of Tennessee Bill Lee delivered his fifth State of the State address on February 6th and revealed that $350 million would go to improve the FedExForum and the Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee, US.

‘NEWS3CHANNEL’ stated that according to reports, the money would come from a tourism-related grant to the City of Memphis in Tennessee, US.

The State of the State Address is a speech customarily given once each year by the Governors of each of the States of the United States although the terminology for this speech differs for some States: In Iowa, the speech is called the Condition of the State Address, in Kentucky, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Virginia it is called the State of the Commonwealth Address.

The 18,119-capacity FedExForum is a multipurpose arena located in Downtown Memphis, Tennessee (US). It is the home of the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men’s basketball program of the University of Memphis, both of whom previously played home games at the Memphis Pyramid.

The 58,325-capacity Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium is a football stadium located at the former Mid-South Fairgrounds in the Midtown area of Memphis, Tennessee, United States.

‘NEWS3CHANNEL’ further stated that the budget proposal also includes funding for the University of Memphis, the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, the National Civil Rights Museum, and the Wolf River Greenway.
