The iconic West Stand at New Zealand’s Eden Park national stadium will be renamed the Novo Nordisk West Stand after a new partnership was sealed with the global healthcare company.

Eden Park said the multi-year agreement brings together two organisations committed to wellbeing, performance and creating a lasting impact in their communities.

Eden Park is the home of over 125 years of unforgettable sporting, entertainment and cultural events.

Novo Nordisk, a global leader in chronic disease management, brings more than a century of health innovation to the partnership.

Nick Sautner, Eden Park CEO said the naming rights partnership with Novo Nordisk reflects a shared ambition to support healthier communities and deliver memorable moments that bring New Zealanders together.

He said, “Eden Park is more than a stadium – it’s a place where moments of greatness happen.

“Partnering with Novo Nordisk, a company dedicated to improving health outcomes worldwide, aligns strongly with our vision of creating experiences that matter and delivering positive outcomes for New Zealand.”

Eden Park is a sports venue in Auckland, New Zealand. It is located three kilometers Southwest of the Auckland Central Business District (CBD) on the boundary between the suburbs of Mount Eden and Kingsland. The main stadium has a nominal capacity of 50,000.

Novo Nordisk has operated in New Zealand for over 20 years, working to raise awareness of chronic conditions such as diabetes, obesity, and rare endocrine disorders and expand access to care.

Jay Pirnia, Novo Nordisk New Zealand Country Manager, says the partnership is a reflection of the company’s ongoing commitment to community health outcomes.

He said, “We’re proud to be partnering with Eden Park – an institution that represents connection, community and shared purpose. This partnership reflects our focus on achieving long-term health outcomes in New Zealand through supporting community-based initiatives.

“We look forward to working together to bring practical, inclusive health engagement to life in a setting that is truly part of the national fabric.”

The three-year, integrated partnership will see Novo Nordisk deliver a range of health and wellbeing initiatives at Eden Park, including community education campaigns, onsite health activations at events, and collaborations with youth and local health organisations.

It also builds on Eden Park’s strong foundation of collaborating with global category leaders.

Sautner added, “We’ve been intentional about aligning with partners that reflect our brand values and ambitions.

“With Novo Nordisk joining us, we’re adding a globally respected health partner to our icon partnership family – one that shares our vision for community leadership, wellbeing and innovation.”
