Kazimierz Górski – who was a coach of the Poland national football team – was officially announced the patron of PGE Narodowy (stadium in Warsaw, Poland).

The ‘PGE Narodowy’ stated that a press conference held recently in front of the stadium in this regard was attended, among others, by Dariusz Górski, son of the legendary coach Kazimierz Górski, the Prime Minister of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki, President of the arena operator Włodzimierz Dola, and the President of the electric power distribution company PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna, Wojciech Dąbrowski.

Kazimierz Klaudiusz Górski was a coach of the Poland national football team and honorary President of the Polish Football Association. He was also a football player. He passed away in May 2006.

The 58,580-capacity PGE Narodowy Stadium is a retractable roof football stadium located in Warsaw, Poland. It is used mostly for concerts and football matches and is the home stadium of the Poland national football team.

Stated Włodzimierz Dola, “PGE Narodowy, the home of the Polish national team, gains a patron in the form of the coach of the century, the father of the greatest success stories of the Polish national team – Kazimierz Klaudiusz Górski.”

The ‘PGE Narodowy’ further stated that tears filled the eyes of the legendary coach’s son Dariusz Górski when the dignitaries present sang paeans of praises for his Late father at the press conference – “I am overwhelmed to hear the praises showered on my Late father. I would like to thank everybody present for showing so much love for my father who is no longer among us.”

Prime Minister Morawiecki also spoke at the press meet – “Kazimierz Górski was more than just a coach of the national team. Anyone who remembers the 1970s knows perfectly well that Górski was a person whom everybody in the sporting community used to look up to. I am very glad that this stadium will be named after Kazimierz Górski. PGE Narodowy is a stronghold of Polish fans. Here, the Polish national team has not lost a single match in the last seven years.”

The Poland national football team has represented Poland in men’s international football competitions since their first match in 1921. The team is controlled by the Polish Football Association, the governing body for football in Poland.

During the presser, a commemorative plaque on Kazimierz Górski was also unveiled.
