Thrillathon Etihad Abseil at Etihad Stadium

Etihad Stadium abseil event

Manchester City

The City in the Community (Manchester City F.C. charity) (UK) will be hosting their first Etihad Abseil.

The ‘Manchester City’ stated that taking place on July 10th, fans will have the opportunity to abseil down the turrets position next to the club’s iconic West Reception.

The Manchester City Football Club is an English football club based in Bradford, Manchester (UK) that competes in the Premier League, the top flight of English football. Founded in 1880 as St. Mark’s, it became Ardwick Association Football Club in 1887 and Manchester City in 1894.

The City of Manchester Stadium in Manchester, England (UK), also known as the Etihad Stadium for sponsorship reasons, is the home of Premier League club Manchester City F.C., with a domestic football capacity of 53,400, making it the fifth-largest in the Premier League and 10th-largest in the United Kingdom.

In 1986, the Manchester City F.C. formalized a century of commitment to social responsibility with the foundation of its charity, City in the Community (CITC).

Now more than 30 years old, with the support of passionate fans CITC uses the ‘football effect’ to promote health, confidence, safe spaces, and pathways into training and jobs for young people, working with 40,000 individuals in Greater Manchester each year.

The ‘Manchester City’ further stated that the minimum age requirement is eight years old and maximum weight to take part is 114 kg (17.9 stone), meaning this is an event for all of the family.

One will be required to pay a £25 registration fee and raise a minimum of £125 in sponsorship money.

Participants will receive an event T-shirt, support and advice to help reach one’s fundraising goal as well as a certificate and the opportunity to purchase a photograph of the abseil on completion. With the club’s fabulous sponsors Nescafe Azera, it’s due to be a fantastic day of fun and adventure!

Refreshments will be available on the day, and friends and family can come down and cheer you on too. There will be fun activities and entertainment on the day and some special guests in attendance, including club mascots Moonbeam and Moonchester.

Once he or she has registered, he or she will be allocated a specific time to arrive and to take on the abseil (between 10am-6pm) and one will receive a tailored email detailing all event information and instructions for the day.
