This will be the fourth Commonwealth Games to be hosted in Scotland (UK) following the 1970 and 1986 games in Edinburgh and the 2014 Games in Glasgow.

The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games will mark a new era for Commonwealth Sport with a more sustainable and inclusive delivery model. As the Official Event Delivery Partner Trivandi will be responsible for the overlay and venue operations at Glasgow’s iconic, world-class sports venues transforming them into Commonwealth Games-ready facilities.

‘Commonwealth Sport’ further stated that Glasgow 2026 will set a new benchmark for the future Games providing a replicable framework for the future hosts across the Commonwealth demonstrating how the Cities can stage world-class sporting competitions while maximizing the local employment benefits and minimizing the environmental impact. This will ensure the Games remain accessible to the nations and territories of all sizes and economic circumstances while delivering meaningful legacy benefits.

At the heart of the model is a ‘One Team’ approach which will embed international specialists into key operational roles in the Glasgow 2026 Organising Company and a commitment to recruiting 250 workforce roles to deliver the Games. The Global Events Company has set a target to recruit 60 percent of the workforce from the City and its surrounding areas with dedicated opportunities for the unemployed residents, the students and people with accessibility needs through local social enterprises and education providers.

Our partnership with Trivandi signals our absolute confidence in delivering an exceptional Commonwealth Games in Glasgow next Summer. Trivandi’s world-class expertise and shared values of innovation, inclusion and impact will ensure Glasgow 2026 is remembered not only for outstanding sport but for the positive impacts it delivers for the communities, the businesses as well as the future host nations and the next generation of world-class athletes.”

Stated James Bulley OBE, head honcho and Co-Founder, Trivandi, “Glasgow 2026 represents a pivotal moment for the Commonwealth Sport Movement. Our commitment extends far beyond the Games themselves, we’re investing in Glasgow’s people, communities and the sporting future. The legacy for Scotland will be substantial: Another successful major event that will attract future competitions to the country, a trained workforce ready to deliver events in Scotland, the United Kingdom and around the world and a supply chain exposed to a global audience that opens doors to international opportunities.”

Central to Trivandi’s approach is knowledge transfer through its Trivandi Academy which will use its Chartered Management Institute-accredited program to train people hired for Glasgow 2026 in major event planning and delivery while providing internationally recognized certifications.

Said Alison Giles, Director of Trivandi Academy, “The opportunities created during the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games led to many people from the City building exciting careers in events that have taken them around the world – with some returning to bring that experience back to Glasgow for the 2026 Games. The Trivandi Academy will create similar pathways for the local talent to not just deliver these Games but to lead the future major events across Scotland and beyond. We’re committed to empowering the next generation of event professionals who will carry Glasgow’s sporting legacy forward.”

With the largest para sport program in Commonwealth Games history and a concentrated venue footprint bringing the fans closer to the action than ever before Glasgow 2026 is already set to be one of the most inclusive and accessible major multisport events ever staged. Trivandi will conduct comprehensive accessibility audits and implement venue enhancements to ensure exceptional experiences for all.

Trivandi is also taking a circular economy approach to event delivery which will see all temporary installations designed for reuse at the future events rather than disposal. Led by The Bulb, Trivandi’s award-winning sustainability team, the Games will also create a database of sustainable venue management practices that will inform major events across the globe.
