English Premier League club AFC Bournemouth has submitted a formal planning application for redevelopment of its Vitality Stadium.
AFC Bournemouth said that following the approval of the stadium enabling works, the latest application is for a purpose-built stadium designed to support the club’s long-term growth, deliver an enhanced matchday experience, and bring significant community benefits to the local area.
The proposed redevelopment represents a major milestone in the club’s ongoing commitment to building a sustainable future on and off the pitch.
Designed with modern facilities, improved accessibility, and expanded capacity, the project aims to create a vibrant, long-term home for supporters while contributing to the wider regeneration of the surrounding area.
The planning application includes license for a new 7,000-seater South Stand, the infill of all four stadium corners to generate additional capacity, the relocation of existing floodlights, plus the optimisation of the car park and cycling layout.
In addition, there will be a new ticket office, fan zone and outside broadcasting compound, all of which will enhance the matchday experience for those on site.
The stadium will grow to a total capacity of over 20,000, nearly doubling the current size to align with Premier League standards.
