The 2025 inaugural season for the Major League Baseball (MLB) team Oakland Athletics in West Sacramento (California, US) will bring some major upgrades to the Sutter Health Park, their temporary home for at least the next three seasons.

‘A’S’ stated that with the ‘A’s’ sharing the Sutter Health Park with its current tenant the Sacramento River Cats – the Triple-A affiliate of the MLB team San Francisco Giants – the two clubs announced several improvements to enhance the fan experience, improve the gameday technology and provide robust player amenities.

The Oakland Athletics (often referred to as the ‘A’s’) are an American professional baseball team based in West Sacramento, California. The Athletics compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) West Division. The team will play its home games at the Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento for the 2025-2027 seasons before its planned relocation to the Las Vegas (US) Metropolitan area.

The 14,014-capacity Sutter Health Park is a ballpark in West Sacramento, California (US). It is the home of the Sacramento River Cats of the Pacific Coast League (PCL – a Minor League Baseball league operating at the Triple-A level) and the temporary home of the Oakland Athletics of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Cutting-edge Video Experience

‘A’S’ further stated that the Sutter Health Park is replacing their previous board with a state-of-the-art video experience featuring a 75’ x 32’ main display. Located in the right-center field the new board will have nearly twice the resolution resulting in improved visibility for the fans throughout the ballpark.

All the displays will be powered by Ross XPression CMS allowing for real-time graphics updates that seamlessly transition between the ‘A’s’ and the River Cats branding.

Field Enhancements

The Sutter Health Park is implementing cutting-edge advancements to enhance the performance, sustainability and playability of the ballpark’s natural grass playing surface. Additionally, the integration of drone monitoring, infrared scanning and infield moisture sensors will provide real-time data on turf health, moisture levels and nutrient distribution. This precision-driven approach combined with an advanced fertilizer injection system will create optimal growing conditions while minimizing water and resource usage.
