Saudi Arabia’s NEOM has appointed US consultants Bechtel as Project Manager for the TROJENA ski resort.
‘ArabianBusiness’ stated that the ambitious TROJENA ski resort is in the heart of the $500bn mega project NEOM’s mountain region and 50 km from the Gulf of Aqaba coast.
NEOM is a Saudi City being built in Tabuk Province in Northwestern Saudi Arabia. It is planned to incorporate Smart City technologies and function as a tourist destination. The site is North of the Red Sea, East of Egypt across the Gulf of Aqaba, and South of Jordan.
The Bechtel Corporation is an American engineering, procurement, construction, and project management company founded in San Francisco, California, US, and headquartered in Reston, Virginia. As of 2022, the Engineering News-Record ranked Bechtel as the second largest construction company in the United States.
Bechtel is a trusted engineering, construction and project management partner to the industry and Government.
‘ArabianBusiness’ further stated that the ski resort will spread across 1,400 sq km and have elevations ranging from 1,500m to 2,600m.
57 sq km will be dedicated to the main development, which will benefit from the unique mountain climate in the region, where temperatures drop below zero during Winter.

TROJENA will offer the Gulf’s first outdoor ski experience and host the 2029 Asian Winter Games.
TROJENA is a key development that will contribute to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals of growing tourism and diversifying its economy away from hydrocarbons.
Bechtel will provide services including technical, commercial and construction management for the development of TROJENA and supporting NEOM’s ambitions for sustainability.
