Major restoration work is being planned for the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, US. The facility is a popular concert venue and is home to NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder.

At 668,000 ft2, Chesapeake Energy Arena is the second smallest in NBA. The City said spruce-up is the need of the hour as the 30-year-old facility will have to match up to state-of-the art facilities which venues boast these days. Reinvesting into infrastructure, maintenance and fan amenities is vital, a City statement further said.

“The stadium accounts for $90 million in direct spending annually in the local economy,” informs Tom Anderson, Special Projects Manager in the City Manager’s Office.
