Host Nations for Davis Cup announced

Meet in Manchester

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has confirmed the host nations for the 2023 Davis Cup Finals Group Stage, while the draw for the finals group stage took place in Málaga (Spain) on March 29th.

‘ATP TOUR’ stated that the 17,000-capacity Unipol Arena in Bologna, Italy, and the 9,000-capacity Pabellón Municipal Fuente de San Luis in Valencia, Spain, return as host venues for the Group Stage this season after hosting successful events in 2022. Italy, Canada, Sweden, and Chile will contest Group A in Bologna, while Spain, Serbia, Czech Republic and Korea, Rep. (read South Korea) will contest Group C in Valencia.

London (UK)-based the International Tennis Federation is the governing body of world tennis, wheelchair tennis and beach tennis. As of 2016, there are 211 national and six regional associations that make up the ITF’s membership.

The Davis Cup is the premier international team event in men’s tennis. It is run by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and is contested annually between teams from over 140 competing countries. The 2023 Davis Cup is the 111th edition of the Davis Cup, a tournament between national teams in men’s tennis. It is sponsored by Rakuten (Japanese technology conglomerate based in Tokyo). It is part of the 2023 ATP Tour calendar.

‘ATP TOUR’ further stated that Great Britain remains a host nation for 2023, with this year’s event taking place at the 21,000-capacity AO Arena in Manchester, England – the first time that the City has hosted Davis Cup action since Great Britain played Romania at the Northern Lawn Tennis Club in July 1994.
