Following the first venue visits that took place in September, FIFA is due to start the second leg of its inspection tour of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ candidate Host Cities from October 21st.

The ‘FIFA’ stated that between October 21st and November 1st, a delegation led by the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf) President and FIFA Vice-President Victor Montagliani will visit eight Cities – Kansas City, Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Monterrey (Mexico), San Francisco, and Seattle.

FIFA is a non-profit organization that describes itself as an international governing body of association football, futsal and beach football. It is the highest governing body of association football.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup™ will be the 23rd FIFA World Cup™, the quadrennial international men’s soccer championship contested by the national teams of the member-associations of FIFA. The host countries of the soccer spectacle are Mexico, United States and Canada.

The ‘FIFA’ further stated that during each visit, the FIFA delegation will meet with the local stakeholders and discuss key topics such as venue management, infrastructure and sustainability as well as commercial, legal and legacy matters. The visits will also comprise inspections of essential infrastructure, such as stadiums, training facilities and potential FIFA Fan Festival™ venues.

The FIFA Fan Festival™ is the greatest football party in the world! It is the perfect place to watch matches at the FIFA World Cup™ live, while also enjoying an exciting mix of music and entertainment, all free of charge on match days.

The first nine candidate Host Cities visited during the initial leg set the bar high, clearly demonstrating their commitment and enthusiasm to be part of the largest single-sport event in the world. The delegation is eagerly looking forward to this next round of visits.

The remaining US and Mexican bidding venues, as well as those in Canada, will be visited by the end of November, with a view to performing a thorough assessment and finalizing the selection process by Q1/Q2 2022.
