Olympique de Marseille has reached a deal with the City of Marseille to carry on playing at the Orange Vélodrome for another 15 years.

The French Ligue 1 club said It opens up the possibility of gradually investing in improvements to enhance the experience of supporters and visitors, strengthen security measures and enhance the stadium’s facilities, which are at the heart of the club’s activities.
The 67,000-capacity Stade Vélodrome, known for sponsorship reasons as the Orange Vélodrome since June 2016, is a multipurpose stadium in Marseille, France.
Olympique de Marseille, also known simply as Marseille, or by the abbreviation OM, is a French professional football club based in Marseille which competes in Ligue 1, the top flight of French football.
The club said the agreement responds to recommendations made at ministerial level and by the regional audit office, setting out clear, balanced and sustainable conditions for the stadium’s operation, both for the club and for the local authority and all stakeholders.
Through the agreement, Olympique de Marseille confirms its commitment to an ambitious and sustainable project that serves its supporters and promotes Marseille’s sporting and economic influence.
This new agreement replaces the previous arrangement and provides a clearer and more sustainable framework for the stadium’s use.
The deal allows the club to begin phased investment in the stadium to improve supporter access, safety measures, and general facilities over the duration of the deal.
The Orange Vélodrome, which remains the property of the city, has been the home ground for Olympique de Marseille since it first opened in 1937.
