Ontario International Airport (ONT) has landed the naming rights to a new baseball stadium which is under construction in the Californian city of Ontario.

The Ontario Economic Development Agency said in a LinkedIn post that the 6,000-seat ballpark will be known as ONT Field when it opens its doors in spring 2026.

It will be home to the new Los Angeles Dodgers Single-A team which will start playing in Ontario in 2026.

The stadium will be part of the Ontario Sports Empire, a 190-acre multi-use sports complex which will be the largest complex of its kind west of the Rocky Mountains.

Ontario International Airport has been described as the city’s most important entity, its best-known feature and a linchpin of its economic strategy. For Ontario to name its ballpark ONT Field is said to be good marketing.

The venue will be located 10 minutes from the Ontario International Airport in an area with 6,000 hotel rooms and numerous entertainment options offering the players and the fans everything they need.

The complex will host major regional and national tournaments. The 190-acre facility will include 20 long fields, 14 youth diamond fields, eight full-size diamonds, four football/rugby fields, and two championship baseball fields.

Ontario International Airport is an international airport 2 mi (3.2 km) east of downtown Ontario, in San Bernardino County, California, United States, about 38 mi (61 km) east of downtown Los Angeles and 18 mi (29 km) west of downtown San Bernardino.

It is owned and operated under a joint-powers agreement with the city of Ontario and San Bernardino County. It offers nonstop flights to 30 destinations, including New York, Las Vegas, Mexico and more.

Michael Krouse, President-cum-CEO of marketing organization Greater Ontario California said, “This venue will position Ontario as a must-visit City for major sporting events. It’s an exciting development that will put Ontario on the national stage driving significant growth in both sports tourism and local economic impact.”

Jim Arnold, SFC Partner and National Director of Business Development, “This complex is not just another sports facility. It’s a national destination for the elite competitions and youth development.

“It will also be home for the community to host events and celebrations. We’re excited to work alongside the City leaders and industry experts to create a venue that will elevate Ontario’s profile on the sports tourism map and serve the community for years to come.”
