‘UEFA’ further stated that this venue will be the 12th to stage the UEFA Super Cup since the fixture switched from its long-term home of Monaco, after Prague (Czechia) (2013), Cardiff (UK) (2014), Tbilisi (Georgia) (2015), Trondheim (Norway) (2016), Skopje (North Macedonia) (2017), Tallinn (Estonia) (2018), Istanbul (Türkiye) (2019), Budapest (Hungary) (2020), Belfast (UK) (2021), Helsinki (Finland) (2022) and Piraeus (Greece) (2023).
The Premier League club Manchester City F.C. (UK) won the 2023 UEFA Super Cup beating the LaLiga club Sevilla FC (Spain) on penalties following a 1-1 draw at the 33,334-capacity Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium in Piraeus, Greece.
