It is only by March 2022 that a clear picture will emerge as regards the revamp of the Artemio Franchi Stadium in Italy.
The ‘La Nazione Firenze’ stated that brainstorming sessions were held recently at the main hall of Santa Maria Novella (church in Florence, Italy) in this regard.

The ‘La Nazione Firenze’ further stated that each project has been evaluated, analyzed and compared, taking into account all different viewpoints, from aesthetic to urban planning ones. After three days of intense deliberations, out of 31 proposals, eight were picked up. Among the eight proposals, also figures the Artemio Franchi Stadium redevelopment project.
After going through each of the eight project proposals, the experts held a virtual session and then met in Florence for an in-person discussion recently. A fiscal assessment of the redevelopment project of Artemio Franchi Stadium – designed by architect Pier Luigi Nervi – was carried out and then a final decision would be taken in 2022.
The municipal administration staffs also did a thorough review of the project to check whether standard rules laid down was being complied or not. In fact, all the 32 projects were evaluated and finally eight projects were picked up.
A statement sent out by the Palazzo Vecchio (town hall of Florence) authorities stated, “The whole process takes place online, through a secure, streamlined and functional platform, which allows you to manage the entire exercise while not revealing the names of the participants.”
Few more procedures are left to be done and the deadline is February 1st, 2022 and by March 2022 it will be clear whether Artemio Franchi Stadium redecoration work will go ahead or not.
