George R. Vaughan is a technology leader specialising in the design and delivery of large-scale, digitally enabled environments – from world-class sporting venues to next-generation smart cities.
As Director of Technology for the Bristol Brabazon development, including the Aviva Arena, George leads the strategic vision and implementation of technology for one of the UK’s most ambitious regeneration projects. His work focuses on creating a highly connected, sustainable and intelligent urban ecosystem that redefines how people live, work and experience a place.
George brings a proven track record of delivering complex technology transformation programmes across globally recognised venues. At Twickenham Stadium, he led initiatives that contributed to the venue receiving seven industry awards, while at Ascot Racecourse he drove the implementation of an integrated “smart venue” vision, introducing innovative digital experiences at scale.
His expertise extends to the global stage, having served on government advisory teams for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan, as well as contributing to pilot projects for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Across these roles, he has helped shape how technology enhances fan engagement, operational efficiency and future-ready infrastructure.
As co-founder of The Digital Line, George has also worked at the intersection of innovation and industry, collaborating with global technology leaders to develop new platforms across sectors including hospitality, healthcare, retail and education, with a particular focus on improving experiences in senior living environments.
Beyond his professional work, George is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion in technology. He actively supports WIMENA and serves as an ambassador for Cosmic Girls, helping inspire the next generation of women to pursue careers in technology and space.
A natural storyteller with real-world insight, George speaks on topics including smart cities, digital transformation, fan experience, AI and the future of connected environments, bringing practical lessons from some of the world’s most complex and high-profile projects.
Fun fact: George was part of a team that trekked to Everest Base Camp and played in the highest-ever game of rugby at over 5,500 metres – supporting charitable initiatives along the way.
