Larry McKinley is the Chief Security Officer for McCormick Place and Wintrust Arena. He leads security, public safety, emergency management, and life safety operations for North America’s largest convention center and the Wintrust Arena. The McCormick Place campus hosts hundreds of events each year, bringing nearly 3 million visitors.

With more than 30 years of experience in law enforcement and security leadership, including 26 years with the Gary Police Department, where he served as Chief of Police, Larry has extensive expertise in venue security, crisis management, emergency preparedness, and multi-agency coordination. A recipient of the District One Law Enforcement Council Lifetime Achievement Award, he is passionate about building resilient security programs, developing leaders, and creating safe, welcoming environments for large-scale events.
