The Welsh Rugby Union has recently confirmed its stadium naming rights deal with the Principality Building Society has been extended until 2030 with the new investment directly supporting the growth of the game in Wales (UK) from grassroots up to the elite levels.
‘principalitystadium.wales’ stated that the ‘Wales’ national ground has been known as the Principality Stadium hosting an array of global music stars, worldwide sporting events and international Welsh rugby since January 2016.
Wales (UK)-based the Welsh Rugby Union is the governing body of rugby union in the country of Wales (UK) recognized by the sport’s international governing body – the World Rugby.
Dublin (Ireland)-based the World Rugby is the governing body for the sport of rugby union. The World Rugby organizes the Rugby World Cup every four years, the sport’s most recognized and most profitable competition.
The Principality Building Society is a building society based in Cardiff, Wales (UK). In December 2022 the Society had total assets of more than £11 billion. The Principality Building Society is a mutual which means it is owned by its members rather than the shareholders.
The 73,931-capacity Millennium Stadium, known since 2016 as the Principality Stadium for sponsorship reasons, is the national stadium of Wales (UK). Located in Cardiff it has a retractable roof and is the home of the Wales national rugby union team.

‘principalitystadium.wales’ further stated that the deal with one of Wales’ oldest building societies, formed in 1860, had been extended for one year as a goodwill gesture by the Welsh Rugby Union after COVID-19 saw many events canceled or held behind closed doors during the 2022 season. But, now the two great, historic Welsh brands have come to an agreement until 2030.
