Ziplining has returned to the Principality Stadium (Cardiff, Wales, UK) after it left during the Summer.

‘BBC’ stated that the new zipline opened on October 31st.

The 73,931-capacity Millennium Stadium, known since 2016 as the Principality Stadium for sponsorship reasons, is the national stadium of Wales (UK). Located in Cardiff it has a retractable roof and is the home of the Wales national rugby union team.

‘BBC’ further stated that a previous attraction left when the contract ended with the company that ran it.

At the time the Welsh Rugby Union [WRU] said it was temporary and promised there was “exciting news” to come.

The Welsh firm Zip World has now taken over and is running walks over the 60m-high roof, abseils and ziplines across the stadium.

Zip World is a Welsh adventure tourism company that transforms old industrial sites, like quarries, into thrill-seeking destinations. It is known for offering a variety of experiences.

There were, it said, more “adrenaline-filled experiences” to come.

The previous attraction opened in April 2024 with people able to climb up the side of the famous landmark for £44 with the cost to also walk along the roof and abseil back down at £89.

In last year’s Welsh Rugby Union (WRU – the governing body of rugby union in the country of Wales) annual report the attraction was mentioned as part of the Union’s capital expenditure highlighting “£3.9m for the construction and development of the scale roof walk adventure experience”.

The WRU Chairman Richard Collier-Keywood said the attraction was underperforming and delivering “nowhere near the projections we had hoped for”.
