Key project

The Valencia CF President, Anil Murthy, stated at the Ordinary General Shareholders’ Meeting that the club is ready to restart work on the venue project by October 2022 and is firm on making this development see the light of day in the greater interest of Valencia CF, its fans and the residents of Benicalap (a neighborhood in Valencia).

The ‘Valencia CF’ further stated that once the club boasts its new stadium, it will prove to be a shot in the arm for the club’s overall growth. Over the last few months, the club has presented a concept to the Generalitat Valenciana and the Valencia City Council and has agreed that the new arena will be a nod to Valencia’s current facility – Mestalla Stadium. The plan is to keep the show of the stadium running even on non-match days and the venue will boast cutting-edge technology and come up with novel concepts and promises fans an experiential experience.

365 days a year activities

The new stadium project Valencia CF will present to their fans in more details once all the bureaucratic procedures are cleared. The stadium construction will be based on three strategic pillars – it will give fans a memorable experience which will remain with them for a lifetime, novel ideas will be introduced in the stadium and meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) events will be held which will cater to all audience-types.

The new venue will enjoy huge hospitality spaces comprising restaurants offering gourmet food and a lot of leisure activities.

Sustainability goals

The sustainability quotient will be given highest priority while going about with the venue work. The facility will boast a solar roof as Valencia enjoys a lot of sunshine and renewable energy will be supplied not only to the stadium but to the entire neighborhood.

Though the new home of the Valencia CF will initially boast a capacity which will be the same as the current home pitch of the club, but in future it might be made a 70,000-seat stadium.

Economic impact

The new stadium will economically benefit the City of Valencia. Already, 172 million euros have been expended in the new arena and the total price tag of the venue is expected to exceed 350 million euros.

Once the construction resumes, it will have a direct economic bearing on the City of Valencia. More than two hundred million euros has been earmarked for the new stadium for the next three years, and then the present Mestalla Stadium will be developed, which will once again entail a construction cost of another 200 million euros.

Apart from the new venue, a sports center will also come up which will serve the residents living in and around the stadium and will also boost commercial activity in Benicalap and will help generate jobs. The new venue as well as the sports center will trigger further economic activities.
