The Spanish professional football club Valencia CF is again initiating the process of constructing their home venue work on which got halted due to financial strain.
The ‘Valencia CF’ stated that the club recently presented through entry registration the response to the request of the plenary session of the Consell (a small municipality), notified on December 16th, 2021, with all the supporting documentation of the Strategic Territorial Action (ATE), detailing a financially guaranteed proposal to complete the stadium and other provisions incorporated into the ATE within 90 business days from the day following the notification, which will be implemented in mid-April.
The Valencia CF wants to start work on the new stadium pronto and construction work is expected to be completed in 20 to 22 months.

Nou Mestalla is a partially built 54,000-seat football stadium in Valencia, Spain, intended as a replacement for Valencia CF’s current stadium, Mestalla Stadium. The basic concrete structure of the stadium was built between August 2007 and February 2009, but work was then halted for financial reasons. The design was revised in 2013 with a reduced capacity.

The Valencia CF President, Anil Murthy, stated at the Ordinary General Shareholders’ Meeting that the club is ready to restart work on the venue project by October 2022 and is firm on making this development see the light of day in the greater interest of Valencia CF, its fans and the residents of Benicalap (a neighborhood in Valencia).

Though the new home of the Valencia CF will initially boast a capacity which will be the same as the current home pitch of the club, but in future it might be made a 70,000-seat stadium.
Economic impact
The new stadium will economically benefit the City of Valencia. Already, 172 million euros have been expended in the new arena and the total price tag of the venue is expected to exceed 350 million euros.
Once the construction resumes, it will have a direct economic bearing on the City of Valencia. More than two hundred million euros has been earmarked for the new stadium for the next three years, and then the present Mestalla Stadium will be developed, which will once again entail a construction cost of another 200 million euros.
Apart from the new venue, a sports center will also come up which will serve the residents living in and around the stadium and will also boost commercial activity in Benicalap and will help generate jobs. The new venue as well as the sports center will trigger further economic activities.
