TheDOME deal statement on sustainability

Frankfurt TheDome with new partner

TheDome Frankfurt

Innovative, sustainable, ecological – these three elements will be the driving force for TheDOME – the multifunctional arena to come up near the Frankfurt Airport in Germany.

‘TheDome’ stated that TheDOME and ENTEGA AG of Germany has entered into a partnership to establish the fact that once the multifunctional arena gets off the ground, it will be the world’s first venue to operate solely on renewable energy.

Canada’s Katz Group is planning to build one of Europe’s largest multifunctional arenas next to one of the continent’s busiest airport in the German City of Frankfurt. TheDOME will be built at a cost of €300 million and will be able to fit in 23,000 spectators.

ENTEGA AG is located in Darmstadt, Hessen, Germany, and is part of the electric power generation, transmission and distribution industry.

Once TheDOME is up and running, Frankfurt will become the global capital of entertainment and sports.

‘TheDome’ quoted Michael Felka, architect of the planned arena, as stating, “We are pleased that TheDOME is going to be a totally ‘Green’ building and the partnership with ENTEGA AG sends out a loud and clear statement that TheDOME authorities are firm on making it a sustainable venue per se and it is not something which will just remain on papers. ENTEGA AG symbolizes ‘Green’ electricity and has established a reputation for itself in this regard.”

Added Felka, “ENTEGA AG will be involved with the construction plans of TheDOME right from the fledgling stage and we will be getting the best professional advice from them as regards going in for energy-saving methods.”

Andreas Niedermaier, Member, Management Board for Human Resources and Infrastructure, ENTEGA AG, observed, “We are very excited to be involved with such a huge project which gives special impetus on renewable energy. Once TheDOME gets completed, we will be able to send out a strong message as regards saving of energy and how important sustainability is in today’s world which is suffering the worst effects of climate change and global warming.”

TheDOME authorities are now waiting for a nod from the Fraport AG to go ahead with submitting their project plans to the City of Frankfurt.

Fraport AG Frankfurt Airport Services Worldwide, commonly known as Fraport, is a German transport company which operates Frankfurt Airport in Frankfurt am Main and holds interests in the operation of several other airports around the world.

Not very long back, the world’s second largest American food companies PepsiCo and the Frankfurt-based largest brewery group – Radeberger Group – struck a deal with ‘TheDOME’ authorities.

All the above partnerships have given TheDOME a shot in the arm. More partnership announcements will be made soon.
