Chinese online financial services platform Leadercf has signed a shirt sponsorship deal with Spanish LaLiga football club Espanyol.

Under the agreement, Leadercf’s branding will feature on the front of Espanyol’s shirts during the second, third, fourth and 17th rounds of the 2017-18 LaLiga season.

Espanyol’s main sponsor, Chinese manufacturing group Rastar Group, will retain front-of-shirt branding rights for the matches not covered by Leadercf’s agreement. Rastar Group is also the club’s majority shareholder.

Espanyol chief executive Ramon Robert was quoted in media reports as saying: “Asia and China in particular is a very important market for RCD Espanyol, our president is Chinese himself and so are thousands of fans of our club, who no doubt will be very pleased with this agreement.

“The club is innovating and strengthening its commercial policy and this step with Leadercf exemplifies it: we adapt to the needs of our sponsors and at the same time both parties are reinforced.”

More details on Espanyol-Leadercf deal will be discussed at the upcoming Coliseum Summit ASIA-PACIFIC, October 25-26, 2017 in Beijing, China.
