Munich Olympic Stadium events a ‘crowd-puller’

The Munich Olympic Stadium in Germany is not just an architectural masterpiece, it also pulls crowd by the horde. Come summer, and the best of big bands and musicians perform in the arena.

The eye-catching stadium with its iconic roof has always been the most important venue of not only greatest sporting events but cultural as well.

Leading names in the musical world – Robbie Williams, Michael Jackson, Rolling Stones, and Bruce Springsteen – have delivered impressive open-air concerts before a sold-out crowd.

The stadium has also hosted several rock festivals lasting for several days and attracting humongous crowd. In 2019, the scenario was no different.

Rammstein

German singer-songwriter Till Lindemann of the German band Rammstein performed in June 2019 in the stadium thrilling hundreds of fans and the performance was so spectacular that the audience demanded an encore.

Andreas Gabalier

Austrian folk singer Andreas Gabalier left 72,000 fans swaying in the month of June this year. His concerts in the stadium in the year 2016, 2017 and 2018 were runaway hits.

Phil Collins

Fifty thousand spectators gave a standing ovation to the versatile 68-year-old English drummer, singer, songwriter Phil Collins when he performed in the arena in June. It was a nostalgic concert through and through.

Bon Jovi

American rock band Bon Jovi and Munich cannot get enough of each other. The band came to the Munich stadium for the seventh time in July this year and tickets sold like hot cakes.

P!nk

American singer and songwriter P!nk came back to Munich in July 2019 after five years and just like Rammstein, the audience roared approval and demanded an encore. It is expected that another concert will be held soon.

Metallica

And last but not the least, the American heavy metal band – kings of metal – Metallica performed in the spectacular stadium as recently as on August 23, 2019 as part of their ‘Wired World Tour’. Like the other concerts, this event too was a spectacular success.

Since the concert tickets get sold out in the Munich Olympic Stadium within minutes, the residents of Munich stop by the hill opposite to listen to the music in total harmony with nature.
