A new arena which can accommodate a capacity crowd of up to 15,000 people is scheduled to go on stream on November 1 in the Villa Crespo district of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Telefónica-owned telecommunications provider Movistar has sealed a naming-rights partnership for the venue. Prior to this deal, Movistar has secured arena naming-rights partnership in Chile and Colombia. With the present naming rights agreement, the provider’s count has gone up to three.

The Movistar Arena has an array of shows and entertainment offerings lined up. Singing sensation Norah Jones is all set to perform in the venue.

Exclusive offers will be provided by Movistar to customers at the facility which will enjoy razor-sharp technology so that connectivity issues do not crop up. All these clauses are a part of the deal.

It is learnt that ASM Global will operate the arena. Details have not yet been revealed as regards the length of the sponsorship. ASM Global operates more than 300 sports, entertainment and convention venues worldwide.

“We are proud to be able to partner with this new concept of shows in Argentina, with the benefits of the innovative model that the company has developed through the O2 Arena in London, and the Movistar Arena in Chile and Colombia, where it combines the best live entertainment with a unique experience for those present, exclusive benefits for Movistar clients and access to the latest technology and connectivity during the shows,” Telefónica Argentina Executive President Federico Rava said.

Buenos Aires Arena President Natalia Mouhapé added, “This alliance is a milestone for our company. We are very excited to welcome Movistar as our main sponsor… which will enhance the experience of spectators attending shows at Movistar Arena.”
