‘Coliseum’ is back to holding in-person conferences. The global outbreak of COVID-19 in March 2020 had robbed the innate pleasure of holding physical conferences and as the world got ‘cooped up’ and ‘work from home’ became the new normal, conferences were also held in the virtual mode. And ‘Coliseum’ also followed suit and its conferences were held in the online mode.

However, with the vaccination rollout, the coronavirus situation is getting stabilized in certain parts of the world – though Europe is once again clobbered by the Delta variant – and ‘Coliseum’ has decided to hold the ‘Coliseum Summit MENA 2022’ in the physical version. It will be held at the majestic Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, UAE, on January 26th, 2022.

The high point of the conference is that it is the 10th year anniversary of Coliseum Summit MENA. Nothing can beat the pristine sheen which a traditional conference enjoys.

‘Coliseum’s’ tang lies in its conferences and the upcoming MENA conference will bring the stadium, arena and entertainment venue professionals of the region together. It is the only stadium and arena business conference in the whole MENA region.

It will be a brainstorming one-day session with venue wizards from UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait all presenting case studies and deliberating on the challenges which the various projects they undertake in the sports venue sector throw up and the subsequent lessons learned. It promises to be an information-replete and pearls of wisdom summit and Coca-Cola Arena will resonate with intellectual discussions.

Venue aces will throw light on different segments of the stadium business, namely, Venue DESIGN, Venue CONSTRUCTION, Venue BUSINESS, Venue TECHNOLOGY, Venue OPERATIONS, Venue HEALTH, SAFETY & SECURITY, GREEN Venue, Venue VIP (premium seating), Venue EXPERIENCE, AUDIOVISUAL Solutions, BRAND Development and the Venue DESTINATION – and the august audience present is sure to get enlightened in this enriching session.

Few heavyweights who will add weight to the conference are – Waleed Ibrahim Al Hosani, CEO, UAE Pro League, Mark Jan Kar, General Manager, Coca-Cola Arena, UAE, and Dr. Debbie Stanford-Kristiansen, General Manager, ASM Global, Bahrain.

The cherry on the ‘Coliseum Summit’ cake is the ‘Super Panel’ at the end of the conference wherein experts will confer on the topic of ‘Venue as a Destination’. Bigwigs like Rashed Abdulla Ali, CEO, AACIC, UAE, Rob Hunden, President, Hunden Strategic Partners, US, Joachim Schares, Managing Director, AS+P, Germany, Tim Brouw, Senior Project Manager, Sports Facilities, Qiddiya, Saudi Arabia, Avijit Yadav, CEO, Tamdeen Mall Management, Kuwait, and John Lickrish, Chief Executive Officer, Flash Entertainment, UAE, will engage in fruitful discussions on how stadiums today are fast getting transformed into a destination unto itself and with the changing taste of fans can no longer afford to just be a structure where games are held but has to offer varied attractions. However, the MENA region sports venues are lagging behind in this regard and the aficionados will discuss how the operators in this region need to pull their socks up. Mark Kelly, Managing Director, Ashton Gate & Bristol Sport, UK, will be the moderator of this very riveting session.

So, get ready for a session of powwow and watch this space for more details on the Coliseum MENA Summit.
