Cádiz CF presents Sportech City Image: Cádiz Club de Fútbol

The LaLiga team Cádiz CF (Spain) wants to build a new stadium as well as a business and technology center next to it.

The plans for the Sportech City have been revealed after the Cádiz CF President Manuel Vizcaino last month expressed his desire to build a new stadium for Cádiz with a capacity to accommodate 30,000 to 35,000 fans.

‘m.allfootballapp.com’ stated that the ‘Sportech City’ is a new project in tandem with Sportech, and partly funded by LaLiga’s CVC deal, or La Liga Impulso. A high-performance sports center will be built, alongside a technology center, offices, a business center, and a user experience center too.

The Cádiz CF is a Spanish professional football club based in Cádiz, Andalusia (Spain). Founded in 1910, the club competes in LaLiga, the top men’s professional football division of the Spanish football league system. They play their home games at the Nuevo Mirandilla Stadium in Cádiz, Spain, with a seating capacity of 20,724.

The 20,724-capacity Nuevo Mirandilla is a football stadium in Cádiz, Spain. The stadium is the home ground of Cádiz CF. The stadium was originally inaugurated as the Estadio Ramón de Carranza on September 3rd, 1955. It has since then been completely rebuilt twice.

The LaLiga Impulso is an investment venture between the governing body of the top two divisions of Spanish club football and the private equity firm CVC Capital Partners. The project’s goal is to promote the global growth of LaLiga and its clubs. The project was approved in December 2021. Thirty-seven (37) of LaLiga’s 42 clubs voted in favor of the project, which represents a total investment of €1.99 billion for both sporting and business growth initiatives.

The CVC Capital Partners is a Luxembourg-based private equity and investment advisory firm with approximately US$155 billion of assets under management and approximately €157 billion in secured commitments since inception across American, European and Asian private equity, secondaries and credit funds.

‘m.allfootballapp.com’ further stated that if the top-flight can secure the land around their current ground, located on the headland where most of the City of Cádiz is built, then the stadium will not have to be relocated. If they fail to do so, then it appears that the stadium and the surrounding Sport City will have to be lodged a 15-minute drive away to an industrial park across the bridge. It means the local fans will be required to take transport to the stadium since it will not be at a walking distance.

Cádiz CF President Manuel Vizcaino presented the project alongside the LaLiga President Javier Tebas, and the Sportech President Javier Sanchez, and the price tag will stand at €371m. The Cádiz CF hopes to earn between €15m and €20m a year from the project once it opens.

The Cádiz CF objective is to make the stadium a year-round attraction and hub, while creating 4,000 jobs initially, which will result in 2,900 jobs once work is over.
