The Premier League team Chelsea F.C. (UK) Chief Executive Chris Jurasek has left Chelsea and has been replaced by Jason Gannon, the Premier League club said recently.

Jason Gannon has been promoted to President and the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the top-flight club.

‘ESPN’ stated that Jurasek will return to Clearlake Capital, the Co-Controlling Owners of Chelsea, after just over a year in the role at the club.

The Chelsea Football Club is a professional football club based in Fulham, West London, England (UK). They compete in the Premier League, the top tier of English football. Founded in 1905, the team play their home games at the Stamford Bridge.

The Stamford Bridge is a football stadium in Fulham, adjacent to the borough of Chelsea in West London (UK). It is the home of the Premier League club Chelsea F.C. With a capacity of 40,173, it is the ninth largest venue of the 2024-2025 Premier League seasons and the 11th largest football stadium in England.

Founded in 2006, Santa Monica (US)-based the Clearlake Capital Group, L.P. is an investment firm operating integrated businesses across private equity, credit and other related strategies. With a sector-focused approach, the firm seeks to partner with the experienced management teams by providing patient, long-term capital to the dynamic businesses that can benefit from Clearlake’s operational improvement approach.

‘ESPN’ quoted Jurasek as stating, “I am incredibly proud to have led this historic football club into its next chapter. We have accomplished the task of building a team both on and off the pitch that means the club is well-positioned for long-term success.”

During his time as the Chief Executive, Jurasek made several decisions that were met with disapproval by Chelsea’s matchgoing supporters, including referring to them as customers rather than fans.

He also ended a longstanding bus subsidy for the away fans and implemented the first general admission season ticket price increases in over a decade.
