Formula 1® and the International Automobile Federation (FIA) have confirmed that the Bahrain International Circuit in Bahrain will host the Aramco Pre-Season Testing on February 26th, 27th and 28th, 2025 ahead of the FIA Formula One World Championship (the world’s most prestigious motor racing competition) season which will be held in Melbourne (Australia) from March 14th-16th.

‘corp.formula1.com’ stated that the circuit has hosted the pre-season testing on six separate occasions since 2009 with its consistent weather conditions, mixture of high and low speed corners and two long straights enabling the 10 Formula 1 teams to put their cars through their paces and gather maximum data ahead of the season.

London (UK)-based the Formula One, commonly known as Formula 1 or F1, is the highest class of international racing for the open-wheel single-seater formula racing cars sanctioned by the International Automobile Federation (FIA).

Paris (France)-based the International Automobile Federation (FIA – Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile) is an international organization with two primary functions surrounding use of the automobile. Its mobility division advocates the interests of the motoring organizations, the automotive industry and the motor car users in the fields of road safety and traffic circulation.

The 70,000-capacity Bahrain International Circuit is a 5.412 km motorsport venue in Sakhir, Bahrain, which opened in the year 2004 and is used for drag racing (a sport or competition in which specially built or modified cars race over a short distance as a test of acceleration), the GP2 Series (was a form of open wheel motor racing introduced in 2005 and folded in the year 2016) and the annual Formula One Bahrain Grand Prix.

The Bahrain Grand Prix, officially known as the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix for sponsorship reasons, is a Formula One motor racing event in Bahrain. The first race took place at the Bahrain International Circuit on April 4th, 2004. It made history as the first Formula One Grand Prix to be held in the Middle East and was given the award for the ‘Best Organized Grand Prix’ by the FIA.

The Saudi Aramco, officially the Saudi Arabian Oil Group or simply Aramco, is a State-owned petroleum and natural gas company that is the national oil company of Saudi Arabia. As of 2022, it is the second-largest company in the world by revenue and is headquartered in Dhahran.

The Formula 1 (F1) Aramco Pre-Season Testing is a highly regulated event that gives the F1 teams the opportunity to test their cars before the start of the racing season. The tests are held at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir, Bahrain.

‘corp.formula1.com’ further stated that the Bahrain International Circuit was the first Middle Eastern venue to welcome Formula 1 when it hosted its inaugural Grand Prix in 2004, and in the 20 years since, the 5.41-kilometer circuit has delivered nine winners from five different teams with Lewis Hamilton (British racing driver), Fernando Alonso (Spanish motorsports racing driver), Max Verstappen (Belgian-Dutch motorsports racing driver), and Charles Leclerc (Monacan motorsports racing driver) all claiming victory from the current grid.

The 2025 Formula 1 season, the 75th anniversary year for the sport, will kick off in Australia, followed by China and Japan, and as part of the continued drive in sustainability with the sport on track to become Net Zero by 2030, a significant percentage of freight will remain at the Bahrain International Circuit for when F1 returns for the FORMULA 1 BAHRAIN GRAND PRIX 2025 for Round Four from April 11th-13th.
