Although the ball won’t roll on to the green carpet until the beginning of the 2025-2026 seasons the pitch at the Spotify Camp Nou in Barcelona (Spain) has already been fully installed as the construction work is being completed.

‘MUNDODEPORTIVO’ stated that the above is a logical step to take to ensure a first-string turf by September when the LaLiga team FC Barcelona return to their digs – the Spotify Camp Nou.

The Spotify Camp Nou is a stadium in Barcelona and the home of the LaLiga team FC Barcelona since its opening in 1957. It is currently undergoing renovation and with a planned increased seating capacity of 105,000 it will be the stadium with the largest capacity in Spain and Europe and the third largest association football stadium in the world.

Renovation of the Spotify Camp Nou Stadium commenced after the end of the 2022-2023 seasons. Final completion of all renovations is scheduled for June 2026 although the club may return before that date. Since revamp work is on the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium is serving as Barcelona’s home ground.

The FC Barcelona, colloquially known as the Barça, is a professional football club based in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, that competes in LaLiga, the top flight of Spanish football.

The 55,926-capacity Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium, formerly known as the Estadi de Montjuïc and Estadi Olímpic de Montjuïc and also known in English as the Barcelona Olympic Stadium, is a stadium in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. It is serving as the temporary abode of the FC Barcelona.

‘MUNDODEPORTIVO’ further stated that since the turf has been laid in September it will ensure that everything is in optimal condition when the new-look Spotify Camp Nou reopens – the drainage system, ventilation, air conditioning. Any snags that may arise in the meanwhile can be corrected before time.

The spruced-up Spotify Camp Nou is taking shape and the Barça’s return to their residence is getting closer.
