The 2. Liga team SC Austria Lustenau struck a naming rights deal recently with the Swiss food company SUN AG for their home ground – the Reichshofstadion in Lustenau, Austria.

‘SC AUSTRIA LUSTENAU’ stated that as part of the facility naming rights deal struck – initially for the first two years – the Green-Whites (the club’s primary team colors) residence will now be known as the SUN MINIMEAL Arena and sustainability is the nub of the above naming deal.

The SC Austria Lustenau is a professional football club based in the town of Lustenau, Vorarlberg, Austria, that competes in the 2. Liga, the second tier of the Austrian football league system.

The 8,800-capacity SUN MINIMEAL Arena is a multiuse stadium in Lustenau, Austria, built in 1951. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of the SC Austria Lustenau.

Wolfhalden (Switzerland)-based the Swiss food company SUN AG is engaged in the production, distribution and trade of calorie-reducing whole food bioceuticals (dietary supplements) and other health products as well as provides services in the field of blockchain (digital, decentralized and immutable ledger) and cryptocurrencies (digital currency). The company is an innovative manufacturer of sustainable and nutritious food. The company’s MINIMEALS are ready-to-eat food and wallet-friendly.

‘SC AUSTRIA LUSTENAU’ further stated that since 2024 the SUN AG has also been the main sponsor of the German professional football team FC Schalke 04.

The SC Austria Lustenau is now the first club in Austria to enter into a partnership with the food company.

Observed Wolfgang Grabher, SUN AG head honcho, “I was born in Lustenau and with the above deal I have returned to my roots. The sustainability quotient connects both the entities and the SC Austria Lustenau home pitch will offer us a platform to market our products and will also give a shot in the arm to the SUN MINIMEAL brand and make it more visible. The SUN MINIMEAL Arena will demonstrate how nutritious food can help the athletes perform better.”

Added Bernd Bösch, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), SC Austria Lustenau, “In SUN MINIMEAL we have a partner whose values and clear vision make them a perfect fit for Austria and our sustainability strategy perfectly align with that of SUN AG. Together, we want to make the stadium a place where just football is not played and it is beyond that. We want to push the sustainability quotient even further and, through this partnership, our objective to become Austria’s most sustainable football club will be met.”

Apart from the naming rights partnership the SC Austria Lustenau and the SUN AG are planning several other events and joint projects in tandem with healthy food and sustainability being the crux.
