Denver FC inaugural match at Empower Field

The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) team Denver Summit FC will play its inaugural home opener at the Empower Field at Mile High (Denver, Colorado, US) in March, the team announced recently.

‘CBS NEWS’ stated that the team, which was only just named this past July, will play at the home of the National Football League (NFL) team Denver Broncos until its temporary stadium and then its permanent stadium are completed. Earlier this year, Denver NWSL announced plans for a new 14,500-seat stadium near Interstate 25 and Broadway that’s expected to open in 2028.

Midtown Manhattan (US)-based the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) is a women’s professional soccer league and the highest level of the United States soccer league system. The league comprises 14 teams (16 in 2026).

The Denver Summit FC is a future American professional soccer team based in Denver, Colorado (US) that will compete in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) starting in 2026. It was accepted as an expansion team on January 30Mth, 2025.

The 76,125-capacity Empower Field at Mile High is an American football stadium in Denver, Colorado, United States. Its primary tenant is the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). It opened in 2001 to replace the Broncos’ original home, the old Mile High Stadium.

‘CBS NEWS’ further stated that the Denver Summit FC President Jen Millet said in a statement recently, “This will be an unforgettable moment for our club, our players, our City, and our fans. We’re honored to play our first home match and host ‘The Kickoff’ in such an iconic stadium. We’re grateful to the community for the incredible support to help us reach this moment.”

Added Damani Leech, Broncos President, “We are honored to support the Denver Summit FC for their inaugural match at Empower Field at Mile High. This venue has hosted many memorable moments in Colorado sports history, and we look forward to working together to bring a best-in-class experience for the Summit FC fans.”
