Ace Seating has revealed that it has completed the installation of 42,000 seats across the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne, Australia, including its Shane Warne Stand – all while keeping the ground fully operational with no disruption to matches or events.

‘AUSTRALASIAN LEISURE MANAGEMENT’ stated that the Macedon Ranges-based company installed the seats supplied by UK-based Bluecube as a result of 30 years of wear and tear on the previous seats.

Ace Seating is an Australian-based specialized provider of high-quality, durable seating systems for stadiums, arenas, cinemas, theaters, and educational facilities. They manage the full lifecycle including design, installation and maintenance often using materials like High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and aluminum for longevity in public venues.

The 100,024-capacity Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), also known locally as the ‘G’, is a multipurpose sports stadium located in Yarra Park, Melbourne, Australia. it is the largest stadium in the Southern Hemisphere, the 11th-largest stadium globally and the second-largest cricket stadium by capacity.

On social media, Ace Seating Sales and Business Development Manager, Damon Shute wrote, “The scale of this project was remarkable, especially considering the venue stayed 100 percent operational throughout every event, match and concert. Every seat remained available while the Shane Warne Stand underwent a major upgrade.”

‘AUSTRALASIAN LEISURE MANAGEMENT’ further stated that Shute added that the project, completed in four stages “(was) an absolute masterclass in operational excellence and project management”.
