Jamie Briggs has been officially endorsed as the new Chair of the Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority (AOSMA).

Adelaide Oval said Briggs was elected to the South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) Board in 2021 and has served on the AOSMA Finance and Risk Committee. He commences a four-year term as AOSMA Chair, replacing the outgoing Rob Kerin.

The 53,500-capacity Adelaide Oval is a stadium in Adelaide in the State of South Australia. It is located in the parklands.

The venue is predominantly used for cricket and Australian Rules football but has also played host to rugby league, rugby union, soccer, and tennis as well as regularly being used to hold concerts.

The primary tenant teams at Adelaide Oval are the Adelaide Crows (AFL), Port Adelaide Football Club (AFL), and the Adelaide Strikers (BBL), alongside the South Australian Redbacks cricket team.

Briggs said the Board remained focused on its key strategic objectives. He said, “We have a responsibility to maintain Adelaide Oval for the people of South Australia and keep pace with other world class stadia both here and around the world.

“That’s why we are continually reinvesting in the patron experience through technology, infrastructure and amenity while also working to attract the best events.

“The $4 million investment we have just made in new super screens and turnstiles is a great example of our commitment to ensure Adelaide Oval remains world-class.

“As a Board, we are future focused to ensure Adelaide Oval remains the very best it can be – for everyone.”

A number of upgrades have been introduced at Adelaide Oval ahead of the 2026 Toyota AFL Premiership Season, including an A$3.1 million investment in its internal and external screens, with the three in-stadium super screens replaced with the latest LED technology.

The three screens – which were first installed in 2013 – remain the same impressive size at 190sqm (northern mound) and 130sqm (south-east and south-west corners) but with 2.7 million additional pixels, translating to an increase in resolution of around 60%.

Fans can expect clearer and brighter screens capable of much finer detail, particularly important for graphics and close-up replays.

The external screens overlooking NRMA Insurance Plaza have also been replaced.

New digital turnstiles have been installed at all gates, allowing for quicker and more seamless event day entry.

The upgrade will mean enhanced digital capability for the future, while still allowing fans to scan in with their paper ticket or physical membership card if needed. Clearer, larger digital interfaces also make the new turnstiles more accessible and user-friendly.

A number of new themed food outlets will also debut this season including a dedicated ‘Chippery’ by the Northern Mound, Mexican outlet ‘Viva Cantina’ in the Eastern Stand and ‘Cheeky Chook’ chicken and chip shop in the South.

Adelaide Oval’s ‘SA Brands for SA Fans’ offer is unchanged, with fans able to enjoy a Vili’s beef pie, vegetarian pasty or sausage roll, Fleurieu Milk Co flavoured milk or Nippy’s juice all for just $5 each.

Adelaide Oval further stated that in addition to Briggs’ appointment, Nicole Haack was elected as Deputy Chair. She has been a member of the AOSMA Board since 2022 and is the Deputy Commissioner of the South Australian Football Commission.

With Rob Kerin’s retirement, the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) has nominated SA Football Commission chairman Steven Trigg to take his place on the AOSMA Board.

Trigg brings significant management expertise. He is currently the Managing Director of The Randall Wine Group and was CEO of the Adelaide Football Club from 2002 to 2014 before taking up the same role at Carlton from 2014 to 2017.
